The more the merrier! I'll add my voice to please send correction notes, but this time as an author... Sometimes people might not feel they should send a correction note because author's do not like receiving them and get discouraged... The truth is, we like the notes; it makes our quizzes better. I am sure all authors will agree that we will gladly accept whatever makes our quizzes the best they can be.

All correction notes reach an editor - if an author makes the change themselves, an editor will check to make sure that the change addresses the issue (or non-issue) appropriately. And, of course, there are many quizzes online whose authors are no longer active - I handled a correction note sent to an author who hadn't been here for over 3700 days (that's more than 10 years) the other day. If it had been handled as a direct message, nothing would ever have happened. Send correction notes, please, whenever you think there is an actual error (but not for suggestions as to how a question or its extra information could be better, we don't have time to rewrite all those old quizzes and bring them up to the standard we expect now). Oh, okay. I realised that many authors are no longer active, but I didn't know that the editors check anyway.

Just wanted to add that editors see all corrections and check them out *eventually*. If you send a correction and see that five days later the quiz hasn't been changed yet, it doesn't mean that you're being ignored, but sometimes the correction notes get backed up.

To add to what guitargoddess said, sometimes it's hard to make corrections for absentee quiz writers. In Movies, for example, it may require research or even watching the movie again (or for the first time in some cases). So if the change isn't made right away, please rest assured that we aren't ignoring it.

I can imagine that literature editors might have to read the book to deal with corrections on certain detail questions. If it were a detail for some of the longer series ("Wheel of Time", "Lord of the Rings", "Sword of Truth") it might take quite a few days.

I also appreciate correction notes! I usually respond to them (though not always) to thank the person that sent it when they were right! The one thing I don't like is when they are rude. I received one that struck me as rude, even though the correction was correct, just yesterday. I fixed it, but I didn't reply to the author. I wasn't happy with his/her tone, so I didn't want to respond and be rude in my reply because I didn't like the note.

I recently received a correction note that was perfectly valid. The note was neither rude or apologetic, simply a statement of fact (which is perfect). What I found somewhat amusing is that when I thanked that person for finding the error, they seemed surprised that I would take it so seriously. I would certainly hope quiz writers would! (quite frankly I was horrified to see that particular error and certainly wouldn't have wanted it to live on in perpetuity so that everyone knew what a "dough-head" I can be LOL!) So if you find errors, for heaven's sake send them. No matter which method you choose, I promise I'll fix them if they're wrong! And I'll be grateful!

I always respond to correction notes and when the person sending the correction is rude or negative, I always tell them I hope they enjoyed the quiz otherwise.
The worst ones are orrections that are not correct and delivered beligerently. I respond to those with my opinion on why the correction is not needed, and I report them to admins.
I do appreciate correction notes, despite these two caveats, and the majority of people on the site are helpful and positive in the way they give corrections.

[quote]...but lesser-known books can be murder. Especially if they're not very good, so it's painful to read them - I'm looking at you, Danielle Steele... Loved this comment! And I feel the same way. Dreading the spate of quizzes that are sure to be coming on "50 Shades of ...Hogwash" Oh wait, that's not the right title...
