The tremor measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale was the biggest to hit Victoria and its capital Melbourne for 100 years.

Are we all safe?

Several websites are reporting minor structural damage, and also that the Internet in Australia is running very hot and people are having a job accessing it, so many of our Aussie members may not be able to get on at the moment. Hopefully anyone in or near the vicinity of Melbourne is safe and well.
