Have you heard of the new boy band One Direction? They are sweeping across the nation and i was wondering if you guys like them or ever heard of them.

I haven't heard them. I tried to get on YouTube to look them up but I'm having difficulty tonight with my internet signal. I'll look them up when I get a better signal.

Five good-looking boys who can sing (some better than others, but they're all OK, although I suspect that they may be getting a little electronic vocodery assistance), and appear to be pleasant and normal, clean-cut, and perfect Disney fodder. Can't be bad.

I do think Harry needs to tell his hair who's the boss, though.

I don't like the Harry one. He is 18 and i heard he dates women that are 30! What has happened to our world???

These are five young men who auditioned for one of Simon Cowell's 'talent' shows as solo singers but weren't put through to the final shows so they were asked to form a group to see if that worked - and it did.

I really have no interest in them and am pretty sure that in ten years time they'll have disappeared back into the void but judging people on the basis of newspaper reports is always a bit dangerous, and judging people because of their age is even more so.

Ah, now I know where I had heard that name before. I had heard that Simon put them together. Not bad voices...cute young men. I hope they continue to do well. Every generation deserves to have their own boy band.

I can't abide One Direction, and nor can my teenage daughter! I really can't see what the big fuss is about a group of average looking, average lads, who sing averagely, with songs that sound very similiar to one another! Maybe they will 'improve with age'.

But this is just my opinion, many out there do like them! Had it not been for Simon Cowell and X Factor, they wouldn't be in existance as a group!

They might be new to the USA, but they finished 3rd in the 2010 X Factor. Rebecca Ferguson came second and Matt Cardle won.

We've had to put up with them for almost 2 years lol

I have no interest in them myself but I can see the attraction to the tween/teen age group and, really, there's far worse people out there they could be admiring!

I think (in my opinion) boys that are 18 shouldn't even think about dating 30 year olds. It ok to date girls in thier 20's but 30's in my opinion that is a little old for him.

The first one I thought of for that list was Justin Bieber, but that's my age showing lol.



What about a girl that's 28 or 29? Is that not too much age difference? Someone who is 18, in all honesty, needs to stay within a range of 18-20.

I’ve heard one of their other songs, but I only love “What Makes You Beautiful.” I’m getting the single of that one.

In my opinion, age is but a number, and so long as people get along and are attracted to each other, “too old” or too young” don’t even enter the picture (unrelated story: when my cousin decided to marry, one of my relatives said “they’re too young” because both are just twenty).

I don't have a link for this, but i just read that the group turned down Justin Beiber's offer to work on an Album together. If this is true, it's kind of cheeky for them to turn him down, considering their mediocre talent.
I can imagine Justin going, It is on... ****hes.
