Tipping Comp

After the Summer of Sport - The most important event restarts, uniting people from all walks of life, pitting brother against brother and basically taking over most people's lives....IT IS THE FA Premiership League Tipping Competition.

Previously seen in the FAPL ...(cue the music)

Last season saw for the first time ever, every podium place taken by someone new instead of a previous year's medallist. superhooppete was crowned FAPL Champ with LeoDaVinci and PaulE claiming 2nd & 3rd. Can LDV & PaulE go one better? Will superhooppete retain the crown? What's happened to Sypher & Gtho4? as the last time they were crowned champs was 5 and 3 years ago.

For all you newcomers out there, the rules are really simple - Every round (38 in total) you must decide which team is going to win or draw and every correct prediction is worth 1pt.

If you fail to pick than you receive a default score (the wooden spoon score for that week).

The competition starts August 18th 2012 !!

Well here we go again....the greatest show on Earth and no, I'm not talking about the Olympics but Premier League Football. 38 weeks or approx 9 months of football lies ahead, with all the thrills and spills of any rollercoaster. Who will be Champion at the end? Who will be relegated? Who will be the first manager to be sacked? These are just some of the questions that have been asked and only at the very end will we have all these answers, but it's the journey that counts!!

What a start to the opening weekend of football - Swansea and Fulham both pulverised their opponents with a staggering 5 goals, keeping clean sheets (no goals scored against them and not the literal sense) and each having a new signing making an outstanding debut for their team.

Liverpool continue to keep losing their opening game of the season unlike Man Utd who haven't lost for awhile until now. I have to say Everton deserved to win that game against a make-shift defence of Man Utd. C'mon, how can you call a back four a proper defence when you have to draft in two midfielders to cover and if it wasn't for De Gea (goalkeeper), that scoreline would have been a lot higher then just one goal.

Chelsea's latest signing - Eden Hazard, was the difference between a nice win and a great game. Setting up two goals was an excellent start to hopefully a great career with the Blues. Arsenal lost Van Persie to Man Utd pre-season and it looks like Podolski is still finding his feet - let's hope (or in my case...never) that Arsenal remember how to score goals. Talking of lack of strikers - Spurs only had Defoe but that has all changed with the signing of Adebayor. Newcastle were lucky to win as most of the run of play was with Spurs.

Now onto the FT league - BxBarracuda has gone from one extreme to the other. Last season they were top after week 1 - this year is a whole new kettle of fish, and they take the first wooden spoon. Five players start in first with only a score of 5pts - superhooppete, LeoDaVinci, Dizart, gillyharold and trev1 BUT this is a marathon and not a sprint and with 15 other players only a point or two behind - I'm sure everything will change.

Spurs to win EVERYTHING (I'm not greedy) - one can dream!!.

Have you heard the latest news? Robin Van Persie has now scored more goals then the entire Arsenal Squad this season and that's the truth !! Swansea continue to be in fine form and would be top of the Premiership if it wasn't for Chelsea playing three games, unlike the rest of league who have played twice.

Considering how many weekly winners we had last week, this week there was only one - Howie72, and with that under his belt, he has catapulted himself into 1st place. Doomed has rejoined the league pushing the number of players to 22 and making wwe84 to be the first person to occupy the 22nd spot. gillyharold drops like a rock from weekly winner to spooner and illiniman14 brings the box to hold the spoons.

The middle of the table have yet to collect any awards but it is only week 2......plenty of time to get your name in lights !!

Arsenal to continue their goal drought - one can dream!!.
