We need to start thinking of a book to read for the September-October read. We haven't tried the Thriller/Suspense genre yet, so let's nominate books from there.

I looked at the list of the top suspense/thriller books of 2011 and I would recommend "The Snowman" by Jo Nesbo. I can also recommend any of the Nick Costa books by David Hewson. It's good to read them in order, although not necessary.

The first one I read was "The Garden of Evil" and I was hooked.

I'm keen to give it a try! Calpurnia, could you perhaps give a 50 word summary of 'The Snowman"?

I'll go with The Snowman, I love Nesbo's Harry Hole novels. I would call it more of a detective/suspense genre rather than thriller but it's a good read.

I wasn't sure that it was a thriller but it was on the list.

I know what you mean, Ann; I have great difficulty identifying genres these days. So many novels seem to cross boundaries and use elements of a variety of genres.

Not something I've read, but Ann and I have similar tastes in books so I'm happy to go with The snowman.

Saying that, I've just bought the latest Lee Child "Jack Reacher" thriller: The Affair.
