The first three are now separated by a single point. There is a gap of 2 points back to the next six runners (who are separated by a mere 2 points) .. and you can throw a blanket over the rest of the field.

. During the last ten years we've run the Champions League comp, we've had just six perfect picks (by five different players). It's now seven perfects .. N-Bomb is this week's winner with a perfect 8/8. The Honour Roll still has the same five names on it, as N-Bomb has done it before!
With that humungous effort he flies up the table from 10th to third place! He also collected a bonus point, his first for the season; which completes that column in the standings.
It should be noted that this is his 3rd consecutive weekly win .. four weeks ago he was running 3rd last, 2 points off the bottom and 9 pts behind the leader!
dg_dave and gtho4 collect a wooden spoon each for the paltry efforts of 3/8.
szabs retains her lead for the 10th straight week .. szabs and Dizart have opened up a slight gap out front over the rest of the field, where 3 points covers the next 9 players (that's exactly half the field). Three points also covers the remaining 7 runners.

At the end of the first round we had szabs and Dizart as joint leaders; ditto now after 11 rounds. At the end of the first round the first eleven were separated by 3 pts; after 11 rounds it's just one more - the first eleven are now separated by 4 pts.
So far, this year's comp has been a bit closer than last year's. In last year's comp, after 11 rounds, the first three were separated by 4 pts and the first eleven were separated by a mammoth 10 pts.

. szabs picked her home-town team to win away at FC Porto. They lost and, after 12 straight weeks as leader through the group stage, falls back to equal second at the start of the knock-out rounds. The defending titleholder, Dizart, takes over front-running duties.
First to ninth (that's half the field) are now separated by a mere five points. The best countback figures at +4 are held by the first two. If we stay bunched-up like we may need these countback figures at the end of the season to determine podium positions.
KrivoyRog and LeoDaVinci are still looking for their first weekly win. PaulE extends his spoon-less streak to 40 weeks.
Howie72 collected his first wooden spoon for the season, to bring to an end his spoon-less streak at 46 weeks .. his last spoon in this comp was in week 4 of the 2010-11 season! He fell one short of the all-time UEFA comp record of 47 weeks, set by LeoDaVinci. It's the 10th longest spoon-less streak for any FT comp (the all-time record is 70 weeks in the FAPL set by DanielPoulson in the FAPL comp).

Apart from PaulE out front and wwe84 at the rear of the field, ozzz2002 in fifth was the only players who kept his or her spot from last week. The rest of us were playing musical chairs.

Sypher and N-Bomb, who scored a weekly win each, move up the table to create a crowded leader board. The first eight players are now separated by a mere four points. N-Bomb and paper_aero in 6th and 7th place have the best countback figures.

. George95 and paper-aero finish the season with a perfect 8/8 .. we've now had nine perfect picks in the 10 seasons we've had the Champions League comp running here at FT. Their names have been added to the UEFA Record Book (see above).
gtho4 retained first place to collect the gold medal .. paper_aero climbed up into equal 2nd, his highest position all season (it was the only time he was in the first three spots). KrivoyRog and dg_dave also finished the season in their highest position.
paper_aero won the silver medal on a countback from Howie72, who scored bronze. The four players who finished 2nd to 5th were separated by a mere 2 pts.
N-Bomb and paper_aero finished with the best countback figures .. and they finished without a wooden spoon alongside their name. LeoDaVinci finished the season without a weekly win.
Bayern Munich lost last year's CL final in a penalty shootout against Chelsea. This year they won the title with a goal in the 89th. They join Liverpool with five titles apiece, behind Real Madrid with nine and AC Milan with 7 titles.
