We've lost another "great" in the music industry.

Waylon Jennings has died of complications from diabetes. He was 64 years old.

Jennings songs are legendary - "Luckenbach, Texas", "Rainy Day Woman", "Mammas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys", "Only Daddy That’ll Walk The Line" and "Walk On Out Of My Mind" among others.

Also Texas bred, Jennings met Buddy Holly in 1955. He played bass for Holly's Crickets. He said that Buddy taught him attitude - how to let your music have no barriers to it. The day Holly's plane went down, the Big Bopper had what was to be Jennings' seat. An off-hand, humorous comment ("I hope your plane goes down") that Jennings made to Holly would haunt him the rest of his life and caused him to get out of the music business for a while.

Waylon, you'll be missed. You gave us a lot of great music.

Although far from being a C&W fan, it is always sad to hear about the death of anyone, especially someone who brought pleasure to millions.
I'm sure he will be missed.

RIP Waylon
