Have to say...Sarah Hughes was remarkable! Like magic! Her genuineness to her sport, her performance, deciding to just skate for the people! And then...to WIN! Wow! Only one moment for me, though! Well, TWO....BOTH of them hockey golds! Well done, Canadian Women's & Men's! I think they were well deserved... ...and the speedskating...! OH HECK! A Huge Pat On The Back for ALL the athletes and their efforts at the 2002 Winter Olympics! *sorry, couldn't help myself...one more time!*

I'm sure Bradbury dreamed of winning the gold; I doubt that he pictured it that way. Cheers to him, regardless. He might make for a nice trivia question a few years from now. Perhaps his name will make it into the vernacular: "Oh, he just pulled a Bradbury; he waited for everyone else to ****up, and now he's on top!" No offense intended, mind you; I just find it to be somewhat funny. Like I said, "Cheers!"

I was so happy that Apollo Anton Ono (sp??) won a gold after the race that Stephen Bradbury won ... Ono really was hard done by. Any Australians sick of seeing that race yet?? I liked it when Alisa Camplin (Aus again) won the women's aerial jumping ... she comes across as such a nice person and I think really deserved her win (as opposed to Bradbury who did the tortoise and the hare thing!!). I think she'll do pretty well with advertising and sponsorship out of all her exposure. I heard that the curling team from the UK, or perhaps it was one member of the team, will be doing an add for a cleaning product. hehe, that's clever.

Bradbury gets my vote too. I really hope that he feels he deserved the gold medal, it would be a shame if he felt he'd won it by default. I do feel sorry for the others tripped accidently, but most of them will get another chance next time round. Speed skating isn't an event restricted to youth. Anyone know of the oldest speed skating competition winner?

Actually, Bradbury's reaction was one of my least favourite moments of the entire games. My favourite parts were The Canadian Men's hockey team scoring their fourth goal and the Belarus team beating Sweden!

Another vote for Sarah Hughes here. She skated just beautifully, and with such genuine joy. And when she won the gold, I could not have been more excited. The performance and her win were just exhillerating.

I don't know that it's my "favorite" Olympic moment, but it's certainly going to be the most memorable for me. I don't think I'll ever forget that little boy's being chased by Satan in the Opening Ceremonies. And, then, they brought in the KKK to finish the job. That was seriously freaky! I know we were trying to show off the history of our nation, but getting the men in white, pointy hats in to scare that little boy was weird! I noticed Satan showed up for the Closing Ceremonies, too. Strange.

My favorite Olympic moment was when Michelle Kwan fell, and her dreams of Olympic Gold flew out the window, yet again. I'm so happy that Sara Hughes won, she deserved it!

My favorite moment was watching the Cameroon cross country ski come in last and get a big hug from the Nepalese competitor. Or The Ice Dream with Roy and HG Or Turning on the tv and there not being figure skating/ ice dancing on. Did that US short course guy end up winning gold? He looked miles better than anyone else to the untrained eye. Or the Russians threatening to boycott. OH NO! Now how can we get rid of African American Athletes with braces on their teeth!

as a Chinese American my heart was with Michelle Kwan. I adore her. It was so sad to see that she did not perform the way she wanted. At the Champions Gala the next night. she skated a perfect exhibition to 'Fields of Gold' when she finished she was crying and I was too.

Hello! No exaggeration that figure skating and hockey are, debatably, the most talked about events of the Winter Olympics..... Anyway, I am an ABSOLUTE fanatic when it comes to the Winter Olympics, and this was the first year I watched it! *shocks from the audience* Any who, I admit, I've been culturally deprived until this year.... It was such a wonderful 17 days! I've been SO busy lately that it was god to sit back and watch, although it did little to alleviate my stress. I mean, all of that sofa-clenching action and suspense... But, it was exciting and I had a great time watching everything! Hm....best Olympic Moment? I'd hate to sound indecisive but the whole thing was a BEST OLYMPIC MOMENT. Just the fact that it happened and everything that went on. If I choose a best, that undermines all of the other events that happened, and I don't want to do that. This is NOT the Olympics. I'm not going to award the gold, silver and bronze to my three favorite moments (or in some cases, double-golds). Speaking of which, that's why I would make a horrible Figure Skating judge. Figure Skating, like this, is subjective and hard to designate certain "points" and "numbers" to "rate". So many factors and variables.... Wishy-washily yours, -Kenny

In the 2002 olympics, well my vote goes to the CANADIAN Women's and Men's hockey teams both defeating USA's teams and winning GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDD!!! That was the best moment in the olympics!~ I watched both games and were they ever nail bitters, but Canada still came out on top..Congrats to Team Canada's men and women hockey players!!

I really regret missing the Men's Figure Skating, especially when I found out Russia took first and second. It was a bit weird, anyway; Illya (probably spelt that wrong, but he won Nagano in '98) wasn't there, Phillipe retired in Nagano and Elvis came 8th! I mean, I love Alexei, but it doesn't really sound like I missed a lot. Sorry, the men's ice skating is usually the only sport I ever watch. I don't know why, but I love it. Oh that and the gymnastics. But I luuuuurve the ice skating!! [ 02-28-2002: Message edited by: Duuuuude ]

Hey! I may be wrong about this, but I thought that United States of America's Timothy Goebel (sp?) won Silver in the Men's Figure Skating Singles... Hm.... Please correct me if I'm wrong.... -Kenny
