The gloriously anarchic Spike Milligan has died at his Surrey home, aged 83.

'he's fallen in the water!'

Last and best of The Goons.

I was going to post it in jokes and humour, Spike would have liked that!

wez x

I loved some of those routines...with the little chimp hitting the symbols?
The chachacha?
I think he would have like the joke section Wez.
This section is getting to be an obituary place these days!

Oh no!! First I've heard of it and I'm devastated ... he was great. When I was travelling the only book I had with me was "Milligan's War" the abridged version of his war memoirs and I swear I knew the whole book off by heart! Most of my humour comes stolen from him.

Chuck Jones a few days ago, and now Spike ... they say they go in threes ... gulp, have I just jinxed someone??

I, too, am totally gutted by this tragic news. I have fond memories of him. The fondest of which was having lunch with him and Tommy Cooper in Skegness. You can imagine what a side splitter that afternoon was

He was an absolute genius and will be sorely missed, especially by those who appreciated his unique and brilliant humour.

RIP Spike.

GOON but never forgotten.

Well said sparky. Spike was a true comic genius and I doubt if we will see his like again.

I have a number of his books, Puckoon has to be the funniest book ever.

A very rash young lady pig
(They say she was a smasher)
Suddenly ran
Under a van -
Now she's a gammon rasher.

or

Today I saw a little worm
Wriggling on his belly
Perhaps he'd like to come inside
And see what's on the Telly

We love you Spike.
