Today is the 90th annversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It has been the subject of many a book and movie, icluding Walter Lord's "A Night To Remember" and the superb British film made from it. I have the film on tape and am reading the book now. tjob};>

Thanks for the reminder, Terry. I also have that superb film on tape and may just get it out later tonight! Though not reading it at the moment, my copy of the book has had a thorough workout.
Have you read Lord's followup, 'The Night Lives On'?

I've read and watched 'A Night To Remember', and I've also seen the movie with Michael Caine entitled 'Raising the Titanic'. I also have watched almost every single documentry on Titanic. But I must confess that my favorite movie is the 1997 'Titanic'.

I am surprised that on TV here in England there are no programmes being shown today to remember the event. There is a documentary on Friday so I shall have to be content with that!

Lisa, I must agree with you, I have read both the Walter Lord books and seen the film which I enjoyed but still prefer the 1997 Titanic.
