TURN ORDINARY HOUSEHOLD ITEMS INTO TREASURES WITH ROPE

"Rope wrapping" is a creative technique that can transform an ordinary object into a piece of art! Here are a few examples:

* Wrap an ordinary step stool with rope and transform into a decorative table.

* Turn a common plastic cup into a decorative storage container by wrapping with rope.

* Wrap an old vase or pot for something spectacular.

Many types of rope are available. Coarsely woven rope will produce a rustic appearance. Cotton clothesline is easy to work with and produces a fabric-like look.

You can soak your rope in fabric dye if you would it to be color to match with your decor.

UTILIZE CANDLES THROUGHOUT YOUR HOME

The warmth and beauty of candles need not be enjoyed only on your dining table. Decorative candles can bring charm to many rooms within your home.

Place candles in the living room on shelving (where little hands cannot reach!), in shades that coordinate with your room's color scheme. In the bath, use candles to create a luxurious spa within your home. Around the ledge of the bath or on shelving, create a dramatic ambience. In the bedroom, consider floating candles positioned near mirrors to double the flickering sparkle.

There are so many exciting ways to freshen up your home with the addition of interesting fabric colors, patterns, and textures. It's possible to decorate seasonally throughout the home simply by changing curtains, pillows, bedding, tablecloths, and slipcovers. Decorating with fabrics can be as easy as adding fabric tiebacks to draperies to perk up your window treatments, or as intricate as designing a fabric headboard for a custom look. Add fabric trims and tassels to ordinary lampshades. Create innovative duvet covers and throws using your favorite fabrics, colors, textures, and patterns. Use interesting fabric on top of existing tablecloths for a luxurious layered look within the dining area. Soften wooden shelving by mixing beautiful fabrics with decorative accessories.
