As the Browns the franchise currently known as the Baltimore Ravens lost the 1965 championship, the year before the first Super Bowl. They also lost the 1951, 1953, 1954 & 1957 ones. The Browns name stayed in Cleveland per the NFL...so they were "on hiatus" for three seasons. The Ravens were an expansion team. See here and here.

If we learned anything this past weekend it was this, you have to score in the second half if you want to win a game, which both losing teams couldn't do after leading at halftime, and the lucky number of points to score was 28, which both winning teams scored. Both road teams won, the 49ers pounding Frank Gore down the throat of the tenacious Falcons defense was eventually too much and earned them a 28-24 win. The ferocious Ravens defense kept Tom Brady off balance and Joe Flacco might get some of that credit he has been looking for after slicing up the Patriots defense.
Themonarch was the only tipper to get both games right, Bx was the only other tipper to join him in getting the Ravens pick correct and 5 tippers were shut out of points.
None of us got the advance pick of the Ravens correct and only 7 of us got the point for San Francisco.
Srini, Plugger and LeoDaVinci can get maximum bonus points if San Francisco wins the Super Bowl.

The Baltimore Ravens held on for a 34-31 win over the San Francisco 49ers. The first half, and the opening minutes of the 2nd half, were dominated by the Ravens who were led by Joe Flacco's pin point passing attack. Then the lights went out a short time into the 2nd half, following one of the few halftime shows I watched all the way through, before the Baltimore offense even got on the field, but not before Jacoby Jones tied a Super Bowl record returning the 3rd Quarter opening kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown and a 28-6 Ravens lead. Once the lights fully came back on, and the game restarted it was almost an hour and a half in between offensive plays for the Ravens. This is when Colin Kaepernick started the 49ers comeback with his legs and arm. He finished the game with over 302 yards passing and 62 yards running, along with Frank Gores 100 yards rushing, and Michael Crabtree & Vernon Davis both had over 100 yards receiving. The closest the 49ers got score wise was within 2 points at 31-29. The game came down to a final stand by the Ravens defense, which had been cut up like Swiss cheese in the 2nd half, stopping the 49ers in the waning minutes of the game, with the score 34-29, 4 times inside the 10 yard line. The Ravens got the ball back and milked the clock and the last of the San Francisco's time outs before choosing the option of taking a safety for the punter running out of the end zone, but the 2 points could have been awarded the 49ers for any one of a half dozen holding penalties that could have been called against the Ravens, who purposely held to take more time off the clock, when the only penalty that could have been awarded to the 49ers was the safety they were already willing to concede. Joe Flacco's first half and late drives for key field goals earned him the MVP award, which could have gone to Jacoby Jones who had the 108 kickoff return TD and an amazing 56 yard TD catch that was underthrown, or Anquan Boldin who had 104 yards, a touchdown and more than 1 key 3rd down catch for a 1st down. Arthrur Jones, brother of Champion MMA fighter John "Bones" Jones, had the big defensive plays with a fumble recovery and a sack, while Dannell Ellerbe had 9 tackles, 6 solo, to lead the Ravens defense.
Dg_dave was undecided until the last day, like many people around the U.S., as to which team to back in this evenly matched Super Bowl and he went with the bold choice only 5 other tippers had made, which was the Baltimore Ravens. Being bold earned him the top of the podium in this year’s competition, Congratulations dave. Others who went with the Ravens were BxBarracuda, who finished 2nd, and gtho who rounded out the podium finishing 3rd, Dizart, Sypher and toolcool4u. The finish was extremely tight as dg_dave finished 1 point ahead of Bx who was only 1 point ahead of gtho and paper_aero.
None of us got the advance pick of the Ravens to win the Super Bowl correct.
The tiebreakers were, first to score – Baltimore, leader at half time – Baltimore and Total Points in the game 65.
Gtho4 wins the tie breaker for 3rd place over paper_aero with the first tiebreaker of the Baltimore Ravens scoring first. Themonarch separated himself from chogobad with the 2nd tiebreaker of the Ravens and they both finish ahead of Plugger, who didn’t pick any tiebreakers. The three way tie between toocool4u, LeoDaVinci and illiniman came down to the points as all three had Baltimore to score first and San Francisco to lead at halftime. Toocool was closest with 53 points, Leo had 51 points and illiniman 47. George and N-Bomb were a dead heat as they both had San Francisco for the first 2 tiebreakers and 48 points for the score. Szabs edged out Mustang with the first tiebreaker picking Baltimore correctly.

Well done to the podium and thanks Bx, for running this Sad we don't get even 1 point for backing the same team all the way to the championship just because they lost in the final  Maybe you should have a points rethink for next year...
