I am looking for some tips on making your own beer or liqeur.

Coffee Liqueur (Serves: 24)
Work Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Time does not include storing the liqueur in a dark, cool place for 4 weeks. This homemade liqueur tastes amazingly like the bottled brands when stirred into recipes for beverages and desserts.

3 cups sugar
3 cups water
3 1/2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
1 quart vodka
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Combine sugar, water, and coffee granules in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in vodka & vanilla; pour into bottles, & cover with plastic wrap. Punch holes in plastic wrap, and store in a cool, dark place 4 weeks. For later use, store in airtight containers.
