Start with a piece of vinyl or heavy-weight canvas. Using acrylic paint, create a pattern in colors that complement your space. You can use a pencil to draw your pattern first. Maybe you want a border and flowers or a more geometric design, such as a quilt pattern. After painting your floorcloth, coat it with clear varnish to protect it from dirt and water. Use warm water and mild soap for cleaning.
