gtho4 Administrator Registered: Sun Dec 26 1999 Posts: 54484 Loc: Sydney oz downunder	The final field of 40 runners for this year's running of the Grand National Steeplechase was announced this morning : The Liverpool Echo. RULES The rules for this comp are simple, and are the same as last year, and the year before, and the year before that... Pick 10 horses in the order you think they'll finish, 1st to 10th. Points: for any horse out of the 10 you've picked, which finishes in the first five places: 1st : 10 pts 2nd : 6 pts 3rd : 3 pts 4th : 2 pts 5th : 1 pt The order of your picks will be used as a tiebreaker. 66-1 outsider Auroras Encore won the Grand National .. no-one had it in their list of ten picks.
KrivoyRog picked 2nd to 5th across the line to take the gold medal .. he was the only runner who had 4 correct picks.
four players dead-heated for 2nd place with a mere two correct picks for 9 pts.
Sypher collects the silver on a countback .. he had Teaforthree 4th in his list of ten picks vs. gtho4 who had it 6th on his list.
13 players lodged ten picks each (from a field of 40 runners) and four of them scored zilch, a big fat zero. They collected a golden wood each .. no wooden spoons for this achievement!
that was the 11th running of the Grand National comp .. and KrivoyRog is the 10th different winner. The only perosn to win this twice was Blinkybill who won the first and third comps, back in 2003 and 2005.
the defending title-holder was illiniman14.
the next leg of the FT Triple Crown is the Kentucky Derby in early May.
