Without trying to sound too snotty, the best relief that you can get for the flu is to get a flu shot before the flu season actually hits. It is not 100% effective, but it goes a long long way.

I was almost afraid to come in and find out what this topic was about! LOL... I thought it might have something to do with heartburn (or worse!).

But now I know that poor Jo is sick. Poor baby. Hopefully you don't have the REAL flu (as in, influenza) because that's pretty serious. If it's being sick like aches, pains, congestion, cough, fever, the only things I can recommend are lots of sleep, lots of fluids, chicken soup, ibuprofen, cough syrup and nyquil.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

I swear by Thera-Flu. It's almost as good as a Hot Toddy (sp?). It is a little too tart for me though so I add a little sugar or honey.

Just finding this thread, jj sweetie... sorry...
As you know, I am just now getting over it. I can handle the stuffy head, sore throat and chills... it's the all-over-body-aches that make the flu utterly miserable. (Or at least in my opinion!)
I, like CC, am a firm believer in Thera-Flu. The stuff works, plain and simple. It's the only medication I've ever found that gets rid of the aches. I think they make it in capsule form now, but there's something about drinking a hot cup of the stuff... it's like medicine should be taken. But watch out for that 'Cherry' flavored version... it tastes funky. You'd be better off with the original flavor... and yes... a bit of honey is wonderful! (and the honey's something your body needs at that point anyway.)
