Re: Francesca Annis: mehaul says: I encountered Francesca Annis today. The answer stated she is a British actress. She was born and raised until seven in Brazil. At best you could call her Brazilian-Anglo but not British. Then flopsymopsy replied: Being born in country X doesn't necessarily give you that country's nationality. It may do, in that some countries confer that entitlement to anyone born within their borders, but some people choose to take their parental nationality irrespective of where they were born. Francesca Annis had a British father and has lived in the UK since she was seven - she's now 65. I think she'd have said by now if she wanted to be Brazilian. I hope this historic research which took a long time to find, saves flopsymopsy from having to repeat her valid response to my notice of the same situation with the beautiful Francesca.

This link is to the top post on my page 4, about 100 posts into the thread. http://www.funtrivia.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/511316/4The last post in that thread was in June 2013 if you want to track down the posts by the thread history log, just before this thread started for looney_tunes' hostile, leveraged take over of the WAI duties from JMElston. Ah the memories, all that blood. Names tossed around. l_t began swinging her axe mightily. It was an event to behold. Before her arrival, we had to walk twenty miles with our ponderings through rain, snow and hurricanes. Then Al Gore invented the internet and everything changed.

They are being phased out as the key name. They can still remain I think if they are someone's created character such as:
Chic Young = American cartoonist, creator of Blondie and Dagwood
But not in reverse
Dagwood Bumstead = character from Chic Young's cartoon "Blondie"
So the above entry might change to Janet Waldo = American voice actress of the cartoon character Judy Jetson Or, it might just be removed from the database. It's up to looney_tunes, keeper of the game. Hope I've expressed a correct situation. There's clean-ups going on all over this place. And welcome to the Forums.

American film & TV actor; 'Law & Order: SVU' Your answer: Chris Meloni Chris is a nickname, one that he doesn't even use. All his credits are as Christopher, not Chris. I doubt you are nearing a character limit on the target name so the use of a short 'nickname' would seem out of place and even misleading since nowhere is he known as that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Meloni

The title of the IMDB page is for Christopher Meloni. I see an entry where he used Chris Meloni for a character name: "Chris Meloni Freakout Compilation (Short) Chris Meloni". Those are character names listed with the production names. When actors use a different name than their own as the credit name (not the character name), IMDB lists it as "Credited as_____" or as listed at the entry for 'The Small Hours (as Chris Meloni)'. Under the full bio they list "Birth Name Christopher Peter Meloni". Chris is still a nick name for his given name and usual screen credit name of Christopher, si? Would it be better as Christopher (Chris) Meloni?

Jack Kennedy and Chuck Heston might refer you to Liz Taylor, Dick Burton, Boz Dickens and Will Shakespeare. On that IMDB page there are well over 100 listings unnamed (meaning he's Christopher in them) versus 6 (?) that say Chris. His facebook page is for Christopher Meloni too. https://www.facebook.com/search/str/Christopher+Meloni/keywords_top
