nope, I haven't lost my marbles; I think I've worked it out.
I must've had two screens open at the time, one with the FT-PL comp and one with FLC. I was looking at the FLC comp where you're the only one, and then went for a cuppa and came back .. to the wrong screen!

      place for the 5th straight week.

    • ozzz2002 drew 5-5 to retain 5th place for the sixth
      straight week (not unusual for a leader or tail-ender,
      very rare mid-table).
    • srini701 wins to end his win-less streak at five.
    • FussBudget drew to end his losing streak at four.

    We now have a mini-break for the NY & FA Cup. The next round

    Although membership of the first-five club remains unchanged for the 10th straight week, they played musical chairs amongst themselves. PaulE lost and stepped aside for Dizart to takeover front-running duties. Dizart has now won seven of the last eight games.

    It's as we were .. everyone kept their position from last week except for N-Bomb and FussBudget .. they swapped positions, for the 3rd straight week. Membership of the first-five club remains unchanged for the 11th straight week.

    • N-Bomb has now won three straight games.
    • gtho4 has drawn three straight.
    • wwe84 is now win-less in five.
    • LeoDaVinci lost again to make it four straight.

    After their 6-0 thrashing last year away to Manchester City on 24th November 2013, Spurs lost the return fixture last night 1-5 at home. When was the last time Spurs conceded 11 goals home and away against the same team? Here's one instance: 80 years ago in season 1934-35. Spurs lost 0-5 at home to Arsenal, and Arsenal won 5-1 at Highbury. That'll please both N-Bomb and Sypher, or one of them.

The FT-PL comp started in 2003. Default used to be the average -1
e.g. see archive of the results thread for the 2009-10 season
Default was changed to the wooden spoon score three years ago:

We had this discussion a couple of years ago but I can't find the thread.
I think it was in one of the results threads when something similar happened.
The essence of it was that, as this is a 1v1 comp, if one of the players doesn't post tips they have a score of 0 not default or default-1.
Imagine Nadal vs Murray.
If Murray doesn't turn up, (as is often the case tongue ), he loses, (as is often the case tongue) .
He doesn't get awarded a score based on how well other players have done.

    Once again it's as we were .. everyone in the top eight and the bottom four kept their position from last week. Membership of the first-five club remains unchanged for the 12th straight week.

    • Dizart is now undefeated in five .. he has won
      8 of the last 10 games.
    • N-Bomb has now won four straight games and
      climbs up to 10th .. he was 2nd last 4 wks ago.
    • gtho4 has drawn four straight.
    • wwe84 won to end his win-less streak at five.
    • KrivoyRog and kevinatilusa are win-less in five.
    • LeoDaVinci lost again to make it five straight.

    The first five continue to pull away from the rest of the field .. they have now put 5 pts between themselves and the rest of us. It's starting to look like the three medallists will emerge from these five; and the gold medal slot looks like a two-horse race.
