| The winner of the FT Premier League was decided on the last day of the season. PaulE lost his last game and illiniman14 won his, to win the gold medal .. illiniman14 was in 4th place half-way through the season. Dizart had secured the bronze medal last week. | PaulE finished the season with two losses in the last five games, but illiniman14 came home with eight wins in his last nine games .. and he came within a whisker of winning The Double, the FAPL and FT-PL titles in the same season (he finished 2nd in the FAPL just two pts in arrears).
Sypher won The Double in 2005-06 and gtho4 did likewise in season 2008-09.
Both dg_dave and N-Bomb scored twice as many points in the second half of the season vs. the first half .. srini701 was twelfth at the half-way mark (week 17) and was still there at the end of the season (see table at right). FussBudget and srini701 went closest to scorng the same number of pts in each half of the season (both of them scored one less pt in the second half).
We had six different leaders during the season and, of those six, PaulE was leader for 17 weeks (nine were consecutive), ozzz2002 was leader for eight weeks (all consecutive) and Dizart for eight weeks. | FT PREMIER LEAGUE STANDINGS

| illiniman14 completed the season without a wooden spoon. His streak is now 55 weeks (as he was spoonless for the final 21 weeks of last year's comp) .. ditto gtho4 whose streak going into next year is 38 weeks. The streak by iliniman14 is an all-time record for the FT-PL comp .. he's 55 not out and will continue when the innings resumes next season (see bottom of this post).
There were a few all-time FT-PL records almost broken during the season for goals scored and conceded, plus wins and losses (see table near the bottom of this post, text colour is brown): - illiniman14 score 187 goals, one short of the all-time record
set by paper_aero last year.
- PaulE was one goal in arrears with 186 for the season (third
on the all-time list).
- iliniman14 won 22 of 34 games played .. a feat bettered only
once across all prior years (by paper_aero in 2010-11).
- an unwanted record by FussBudget: he conceded 184 goals
during the season, all-time record (previously 183).
- two more unwanted records: dg_dave went close to breaking
the record for fewest wins, and wwe84 earnt himself a placing
on the honour board for most defeats. The defending titleholder was BxBarracuda and paper_aero was last year's silver medalist (N-Bomb won the bronze). The three relegation spots at the bottom of the table will still play next year if no-one outside this year's field signs in .. which is a distinct possibility. That's it for another season .. the end of the 11th FT-PL comp. Congratulations to the three medallists .. and commiserations to the rest of us!

I'm NUMBER ONE Although, if I am proud of one thing, it's my sterling effort to defeat the highly-placed Dizart in the last match of the season to climb out of the relegation zone.
