If you use coupons, here's some good news: An increasing number of companies are allowing consumers to do what was never possible before (if fact it was prohibited) printing or copying their own real coupons. The companies are putting coupons on the Internet sites and suggesting that readers print them out and present them at the time transactions. In the case of Dollar Rent A Car, the company is offering one-class upgrades with a coupon print-able from the Internet. Other car rentals have jumped on the bandwagon in putting coupons on their sites as promotions. Kentucky Fried Chicken has been offering print-your-own coupons for more than two years. There are even several sites specializing in coupons, including
www.cyberrebates.com and
www.hotwire.com on the Web. The latter specializes in discounted travel bargains. The ability for consumers to print their own coupons not only saves companies money in printing costs, but allows for coupons to be introduced, changed or eliminated at a moment's notice.
