Another season comes around so quick that you almost forget who won last year (still to post) - Well, this year everything has changed with the old managers retiring, past managers returning and new managers taking the helm...IT IS THE FA Premiership League Tipping Competition. Previously seen in the FAPL ...(cue the music) As I still haven't finished last years tables, I can not say who won last season but I'm guessing the usual suspect will be in the mix for the title OR could there be a newbie who will sweep the board? Only time will tell !! For all you newcomers out there, the rules are really simple - Every round (38 in total) you must decide which team is going to win or draw and every correct prediction is worth 1pt. If you fail to pick than you receive a default score (the wooden spoon score for that week). The competition starts August 17th 2013 !! This is what happens when the scores are not posted on a weekly basis....the following season has fewer players. Saying that, there's still time and I promise it will not be as bad as it was last year. (except in October when I'm on holiday in Oz)

Welcome to the 14th year of one the longest comps here at FunTrivia (the other two are NFL and NRL). Out of those 14 years, there have only been 8 different winners - Sypher (5), gtho4 (2), Copago (1), oleg_mcnoleg (1), srini701 (1), paper_aero (1), superhooppete (1) and last year's winner - PaulE (1).
This year has to be the most exciting and unpredictable season ever with new managers at Everton, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea (ok...a returning manager), three new premiership teams and for the first time ever...there will be a Welsh Derby (Swansea vs Cardiff).
Taking a look at how all the teams fared over the opening weekend, only one real upset took place (unless you support Spurs) - Arsenal being beaten at home on the opening day!! In fact, it was such a shock defeat that they were the only London Premiership team to LOSE (Crystal Palace doesn't count as they sound more like a theme park, then a football club) and why no-one here in this league predicted that result.
Last season's podium finishers are all bunched up with 6 pts but it's early days and anything could happen, which is why no-one has been singled out and bolded....yet 
So, until the next round.....Arsenal to keep Wenger as their manager :) |

This weekend the football was dire !! I mean how can you have a tv show which should be showing all the goals of the week, when hardly any team scored. Boring !!
On a more positive note - only Tottenham and Liverpool remain with maximum points but next week that will all change, due to some big match-ups. Arsenal finally won a game....shame.
Everyone is still pretty much bunched up and nothing unusual happened, so no-one to highlight except Dizart for taking the wooden spoon all by themselves....and paper_aro for the Weekly win.

Ozzz2002 must be feeling dizzy from being so high up the table, especially as it is football and not rugby. Credit and the HOF award goes to Howie72 this round, which is very impressive since the Premier League has been nothing less then boring and hoping the goal drought will be ending soon....
At the other end of the table...LDV missed out on picking but scored a default score of 1, courtesy of George95's spoon !!
International week breaks up the schedule and hopefully all the new signings on deadline day will make more of an impact on a slow start for the league.

Out of four rounds, Howie72 has appeared three times but unfortunately this time was for a spoon. Saying that, they shouldn't feel so bad as most of us got below 50% right except our two weekly winners - srini701 & wwe84. On another note - ozzz2002 continues to get nose bleeds as he holds onto top position all by himself. Will that change in the next few weeks....possibly, but this is the best start he has ever had or is this the worst start everyone else has had?
