- PaulE’s consecutive streak in the lead extends to 21 as both he and illiniman14 get half of the available 8 matches this week. Meanwhile, Dizart drops out of the top 3 for the first time in 7 weeks and gtho4 enters the top 3 for the first time in 8 weeks.
- Those that went above half correct this week – gtho4, Sypher, George95, and BxBarracuda – all collected HoFs. Sypher is trying to break through the barrier of what has been the same top 6 for 12 straight weeks, and now he stands only 3 back in 7th place. Howie72 picks up a spoon, nabbing only Liverpool’s road win at Fulham.
- A heavyweight clash between Arsenal and Man U ended in a draw, while Chelsea met a similar fate on the road at West Brom. However, top-of-the-table Liverpool and Tottenham both won on the road. In fact, only West Ham won at home over Norwich. Elsewhere, Man City and Everton were postponed due to winds of roughly 15,000 miles per hour (estimated).

- PaulE’s streak in the front comes to an end at 21 weeks, earning him a spot in the FT Hall of Fame. Taking over for him up front is illiniman14. The top 6 spots are all separated by 1 point each, and Sypher continues to climb ever closer to breaking the barrier into that group.
- This week saw the largest gap between the HoF and wooden spoon score, with dg_dave picking up 8 while KrivoyRog only tipped Newcastle over Aston Villa for 1.
- Saturday saw all of the big names win, and that continued into Sunday until Tottenham became the only team in the top 6 to lose this weekend. That game surprised everyone involved, as no tipper picked Norwich to win. That was the only game in which everyone got the same amount of points, as Howie72 predicted a draw between West Brom and Fulham, while dg_dave foresaw West Ham’s victory over Southampton.

- The top 8 all remain the same this week, except that Dizart and paper_aero swap as the former joins ozzz2002 and KrivoyRog with a HoF. The top 6 are once again only separated by one point in each spot, while Sypher sits 2 back from 6th and ozzz2002 only 1 back from him.
- Everybody saw Tottenham’s home victory over Cardiff coming, but nobody predicted Stoke’s win over Arsenal. The remaining 6 games shuffled up the board slightly, as still mostly everyone picked Everton, Chelsea, and Liverpool in their matches.
- The Manchester Derby was postponed to make way for City’s participation in the Capital One Cup, and they defeated Sunderland, who also had to postpone their match with West Brom.

- A rather quiet 5-match week saw 4 perfect scores, including that of PaulE, who retakes the lead after a 2-week absence. Also in that group is N-Bomb, who moves into second place for the first time this season and into a tie with illiniman14.
- Those in the podium spots have a 3-point advantage on the field, while the top 6 remain constant again for the 14th straight week (in aggregate). Sypher has been stuck in 7th for 5 straight weeks, and while he continuously scores better than whoever ends up in the spot above him, the person in that spot keeps changing, meaning he is having a hard time making up that ground.
- The only game the majority of us didn’t pick correctly was the only game there was no majority consensus, as Norwich and Stoke drew. Otherwise, the Man U and Chelsea both had dominant performances with Cardiff and Southampton both gave 10 tippers a point each.

- With N-Bomb’s ascendance into a tie for the lead, over half of the field has now at one time or another held a share of the lead. The top 3 maintain a slight lead on the next 3, and those 6 have now been in the top 6 for 15 straight weeks.
- Dizart and KrivoyRog were the big movers this week, with 7 correct picks each. Dizart now stands at the doorstep to the podium spots alongside gtho4. KrivoyRog moves out of the basement with a 3-point lead over dormant LDV. While Sypher maintains his spot in 7th, he is now tied with ozzz2002 following a wooden spoon – a title he shares with wwe84 this week.
- A week of heavy-hitters facing off gave some surprising results, as both Man U and Tottenham lost at home (to strong opponents Liverpool and Arsenal, respectively), as well as Chelsea on the road at Aston Villa. With their victory, Everton moved into Europa League qualifying position ahead of Man U. The last time Man U finished outside the top 6 was 1989-90, when they made up for it by winning the FA Cup.

- There was one match that no one picked – Stoke over Aston Villa – and the other 9 were chosen correctly by illiniman14, who takes over the lead, and paper_aero, who now sits only 2 outside of the podium. - Some surprising results hit the field this week. Liverpool and Chelsea both put up a 6-spot this week, but Chelsea did it in a shutout over Arsenal. - N-Bomb picks up his 7th HoF on the year, and in the process is now tied for the lead with illiniman14. This is the first time that PaulE has been outside the top 2 spots since Week 4. On the other end was BxBarracuda, who picked the 3 games that everyone got correct, but no more.
- One of the two games N-Bomb got wrong was suddenly-red hot Crystal Palace (well, 2 in a row) winning on the road over Cardiff. The other was the only big upset in terms of table standing was formerly-last place Fulham notching a victory on the road over Aston Villa. Aside from that, all the usual suspects won.

- illiniman14 takes over the top of the table solo once again as he picks up a HoF, shared with Dizart, who moves into a tie for 4th, FussBudget, who moves ahead to 9th, and wwe84, who takes over 15th alone. The top 6 remain the same, and it appears they will for the remainder of the comp as Sypher dips down to 6 points back in 7th.
- The race for the top spot appears to be down to the same 3 that have occupied the top 3 spots for the last 8 weeks – illiniman14, N-Bomb, and PaulE. Also scratching for podium spots will be those 3 who have been in the 4-6 spots for the last 8 weeks – paper_aero, Dizart (both 3 points back), and gtho4 (4 points back).
- The match of the weekend did not disappoint (unless you’re a Man City fan), as Liverpool won on a late goal – of course they had to after giving up an own goal not 14 minutes before to take it 3-2. The other usual suspects (that played) all won except Tottenham, who had to rally late in added time to draw 3-3. The Arsenal game was picked by everyone who put in a pick – so as a reminder, even if a team is playing in the FA Cup, if they play in the next few days it will be kept in the comp.

- illiniman14 keeps a scant 1-point lead on N-Bomb, who in turn keeps a 1-point lead on PaulE as the latter two join 9 others with a HoF 6 points this week. The podium is likely to come out of those three tippers, but Dizart sits 3 back of third and paper_aero just 4 back.
- Scores only ranged from 4-6 this week, giving 9 HoFs, 4 spoons, and 4 players with nothing to show for it. Nobody saw Chelsea’s home loss against Sunderland coming, while everybody predicted Man City taking down West Brom.
- Aside for the aforementioned upset all the usual suspects won, except for Man U who lost on the road to Everton, which still wouldn’t be deemed an upset (this year). Sunderland’s win over Chelsea brought them within a point of both Cardiff and Fulham with a game in hand as well, and they only sit 3 back of Norwich City with a better goal differential. Unfortunately one of their remaining 4 games to stave off relegation is at Man U.

- With two weeks remaining, there is a tie for the lead between illiniman14 and N-Bomb, as the latter picks up his ninth HoF in the comp. The pair has a 2-point lead over PaulE, and the podium will almost surely be comprised of those three, as paper_aero sits 4 points back in fourth place.
- Multiple upsets littered the fixture this week, including Southampton shutting down Everton 2-0, almost certainly keeping the latter from a berth in Champions League qualifying next year. West Brom beat West Ham 1-0 to get a little buffer over the relegation zone. In a battle of the bottom two, Sunderland trounced Cardiff 4-0, leaping out of the relegation zone with a 12-goal differential advantage on Norwich City as well as a game in hand.
- The most notable, however, was Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Liverpool, just after Jose Mourinho complained about their scheduling in preparation for their Champions League matchup with Atletico Madrid. The Liverpool loss brings Man City within 3 points with a game in hand and an 8-goal differential advantage.

- In the penultimate week, N-Bomb has leapt to a 2-point lead over the field. The podium spots will be made up of N-Bomb, illiniman14, and PaulE, but the order is still to be determined.
- Upsets littered the field this week, leading to three matchups that no one got correct. Thanks to a home loss, Man U is on the brink of finishing outside Europa League qualifying, and were only not eliminated this week thanks to a West Ham victory over Tottenham. Liverpool is also letting the championship slip away with a draw against Crystal Palace, and Chelsea might have given away any chance they had with a draw against Norwich. The only team that apparently wants to win the Premier League is Man City, who went on the road to defeat Everton.

- N-Bomb is the 2013-14 FAPL Champion! Congratulations!
- N-Bomb never led solo until last week, but it was perfect timing as he maintained his 2-point lead today. The only other tippers who had led the comp since week 6 – PaulE (last year’s winner) and illiniman14 – finished behind him. illiniman14 bested PaulE by 1 pick today, earning the silver, but PaulE still comes home with the bronze after leading for 23 weeks (and 21 consecutively). Those three made up the podium spots starting in week 27.
- paper_aero and Dizart made up the other 2 spots on the podium last year, and make up the first two spots outside the podium this year. The only other tipper to break 200 points was gtho4, who made it exactly. Last year, only the top 2 broke 200 points.
- And now for the awards section, normally brought to you by Sypher, but I will guest host this year:
- Top Tipper Award: N-Bomb with 10 HoFs and only 1 Spoon
- Top Spooner Award and Award Hogger: wwe84 with 5 HoFs and 14 Spoons
- Fence-Sitter Award: shared by Sypher and BxBarracuda by default, as they came the closest to an equal number of HoFs and Spoons – both had 3 HoFs; Sypher had 2 Spoons and BxBarracuda had 4 Spoons.
- Technically LeoDaVinci has the current longest spoonless streak with 37 weeks as he got his only spoon in week 1, however with several defaults we will let the judges decide. Aside from him, both N-Bomb and illiniman14 have 18-week spoonless streaks, as both got their only spoon in week 20.
- It’s been fun hosting a comp outside of my normal comfort area, and here’s to seeing Sypher back next year for the new comp!
