Hi Sandalwood....geez, tell me about it! I have exactly the same problem, my hair has a mind of it's own. I have tried all sorts of things, about 6 months ago when I was having my hair cut I asked the stylist if she could recommend something to help me deal with the ' frizzies ' she told me I probably wouldn't have any bother with my hair when all of the perm had grown out....hmmmm....well, I haven't had my hair permed since 1992 and since my hair is barely touching the top of my shoulders, I really think the perm is long gone!!!
I bought a styling product for about $20 from the salon, you use it before blow drying your hair ( I like to blow dry my hair straight )anyway, that was at least 6 months ago and I still have a lot left, so, it's not really expensive when you consider I use it almost every day. It does make a difference too, my hair doesn't frizz up even on the most humid or rainy day.
I don't know if you have ' Wella ' styling products available in the states, but, I'm sure you could get something similar from a salon, this product is simply known as
' straightener ' ( sounds too easy doesn't it? lol ), other than that all I can suggest is perhaps you do like I do at times and pretend you have a perm! One lady sitting near me in the salon when I had my hair cut a few weeks back said to me ' oh, you have such a natural looking perm ' I just thanked her and grinned, she had a head full of perming rods and smelled like swimming pool chemicals....lol...I bet it cost her $75 bucks too for her ' frizz head '

I have naturally very frizzy hair and mostly I live with it. My friends call me the frizz-bom sometimes. But I just bought a steam-straightener for about $20 and it's pretty fun. The other day, for the first time in my life, I had straight hair. Easy to use too.

It is strange, the only time my hair seem frizzie is when it rains or there is a high humidity. The first several hours after I wash it will be frizzie too. So I usually wash my hair every third day. I use a moisturing shampoo on it too.

Hi Sand,
A steam straightener? How does that work? Steam makes my hair frizz up, it's weird how some things work I guess.
Oh, I forgot to mention earlier Sandalwood, there is another product available from the Body shop called ' define and no frizz ' it's also good, but, I couldn't continue using it because it seemed to make my hair a bit oily, and as it is I have to wash my hair everyday, but, if you have dry hair it might be ideal, I guess that's another thing we need to remember, because what suits one person, may very well be a disaster for another, a lot of the time you spend a small fortune trying different products until you find something that's best for you, but, the steam thing Sand has sounds very good.

ali_cat, I think it's like ironing your hair straight. It's a temporary fix.
