Answer: 1894

The club were originally named Bristol South End FC, until 1897 when they changed the name to Bristol City.
2. What year did Bristol City move into Ashton Gate?

Answer: 1904

From their formation in 1894, the club played at St. John's Lane, before merging with Bedminster FC in 1900, who played at Ashton Gate. The merged club then proceeded to play at both grounds until making Ashton Gate their full-time home.
3. Did Bristol City win the 1909 FA Cup?

Answer: No

The club narrowly missed out, by losing 1-0 to Manchester United in the final.
4. Who was Bristol City's first manager in their history?

Answer: Sam Hollis

Hollis actually had three spells as manager. The first being from 1897-99, the second from 1901-05, and finally from 1911-13.
5. Which of these set a record for scoring the most goals in a season for the club?

Answer: Don Clark

Clark scored 36 goals during the 1946-47 season in Division Three (South).
6. How many league goals did Andy Cole score for the club during season 1992-93?

Answer: 20

Cole was signed from Arsenal in July 1992. He played 41 league games for his 20 goals, and Newcastle United saw his obvious talent and snapped him up in March 1993. Between 1993-95, Cole scored an incredible 55 goals in 70 league games for Newcastle, before being sold on to Manchester United, where he spent nearly 7 years, and hit 93 goals in 185 games, before being off-loaded to Blackburn Rovers at the end of 2001.
7. Where did the club sign Peter Beadle from in 1999?

Answer: Notts County

Beadle was signed in October 1999, and began his career with Gillingham in 1990, before moving on to Tottenham, Bournemouth, Southend, Watford, Bristol Rovers, Port Vale, Notts County, and then Bristol City.
8. Who were Bristol City playing, when they suffered a particularly heavy defeat in 1934?

Answer: Coventry City

Coventry beat Bristol City 9-0 in a league game on 28th April, 1934, which set a record for their biggest league defeat.
9. Bristol City were relegated from England's top flight division in season 1979-80, but for how many seasons had they been playing in it before this?

Answer: 4

City were promoted from the then second division in 1975-76, and in the following seasons, finished 19th, 17th, 13th and 20th. Following this, the club went on a bad streak of relegation trouble, after dropping to the fourth division in consecutive seasons.
10. What relation is defender Liam Rosenior, who was signed as a trainee in 2002, to former manager Leroy Rosenior?

Answer: Son

Leroy managed the club for just five months, between January and June 2000.
