Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What does Homer dare Bart to do?

Answer: Skate to Krusty Burger and back naked

At the beginning of the film, Bart skates to Krusty Burger naked after Homer calls him 'chicken', but he is caught by Officer Wiggum in the process. Officer Wiggum then proceeds to cuff Bart to a lamp post. Flanders is eventually Bart's saviour when he hands over a spare pair of shorts he carries around for 'emergencies'.
2. What does Homer dump in Springfield Lake?

Answer: A silo of pig droppings

Springfield Lake is extremely polluted and Lisa leads a campaign to have it cleaned up. Homer has a new pet pig and has a dilemma of where to put all of the waste that his new pet creates. Homer doesn't listen to Marge and decides to dump his silo of pig droppings in the newly 'cleaned' lake, leading to disastrous circumstances.

The lake becomes so polluted that President Schwarzenegger orders the town sealed in a protective dome.
3. Yeardley Smith voices Lisa.

Answer: True

Lisa is especially angry when she finds out what Homer has done. The government responds by building an impenetrable dome around Springfield to stop the pollution spreading. Yeardley Smith is the only person who voices just one character in the show. Born in 1964, Yeardley has voiced Lisa in 397 episodes and has won an Emmy award for her efforts.
4. Which band plays at Springfield Lake?

Answer: Green Day

The film begins with Green Day's float dissolving due to the amount of pollution in Springfield Lake. The residents are not impressed when the band tries to talk about 'environmental' issues, and they boo and jeer as the band sinks to an amusing rendition of the 'Titanic' theme tune. Green Day is an American punk band whose album, 'American Idiot', has gone triple platinum and sold seven million copies worldwide.

The band's version of the Simpsons' theme tune has been released alongside the film.
5. Which Simpsons' character is the first to escape the dome surrounding Springfield?

Answer: Maggie

Maggie escapes through a sink hole beneath her sand pit, with nobody noticing. Marge believes she is seeing things when she spots Maggie outside the dome and by the time Homer arrives, Maggie is back in her sand pit.
6. The Simpsons escape to which state?

Answer: Alaska

The Simpsons are run out of town after Homer is discovered to be the culprit behind the dumping in the lake. They escape through Maggie's sink hole, with their house blocking the hole behind them. Homer has a poster in his wallet of the Alaskan landscape and suggests the family begin a new life there.
7. Who claims to be the new leader of Springfield on the Simpsons return?

Answer: Moe

Marge spots a plot on the television to blow up Springfield to create the new 'Grand Canyon', and so she leaves Alaska with the children to save their beloved town. When they return, Moe claims to be the new mayor, wearing a round of bullets and a traffic cone on his head.
8. What does EPA stand for?

Answer: Environmental Protection Agency

The plot of the movie begins when the EPA discovers Springfield Lake is the most polluted in the country. To solve the problem, President Schwarzenegger orders the town to be sealed in an impenetrable dome to stop the pollution from spreading. The EPA is responsible for guarding the dome's perimeter and preventing people from escaping.

The agency is ultimately responsible for the planned destruction of Springfield.
9. Homer slides down the bomb rope and knocks everyone off on his way down.

Answer: True

Homer believes he is saving everybody by returning at the end of the film, and he climbs down the rope holding the bomb above Springfield. Little does he know that everyone else is climbing up it to escape the dome. The resulting collision leaves everyone stuck inside the dome, along with the bomb, and no way out.
10. Why does Bart decide to leave the Flanders and return to his dad in the end?

Answer: Homer lets Bart hold the bomb and save the town.

Bart returns to Homer as he allows Bart to carry the bomb that's about to blow up Springfield. Together they throw the bomb so far as to save the town, and renew their father-son relationship.
