Answer: Westley

The Man in Black turned out to be Buttercup's long-thought-to-be-dead beloved Westley. Through a strange sequence of events, he was also the Dread Pirate Roberts.
2. In "North by Northwest" (1959), Cary Grant's character was chased over what famous monument?

Answer: Mount Rushmore

He also famously got chased by a low-lying crop-duster in this movie. This all happened because he was mistaken for a government agent.
3. In "The Color Purple" (1985), who played Celie's abusive husband Albert?

Answer: Danny Glover

Danny Glover brilliantly portrayed the brute. Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey were both nominated for Oscars as a result of their stellar performances in this film.
4. In "Silkwood" (1983), Meryl Streep's and Cher's characters worked at a plant with many safety violations. What did this plant process?

Answer: Plutonium

Karen Silkwood (portrayed by Oscar-winner Meryl Streep) was murdered in 1974. She was purposefully contaminated, tortured, and eventually killed for exposing problems at the plant.
5. "Sense and Sensibility" (1995) was adapted for the screen by Oscar-winner Emma Thompson. Who wrote the novel on which the movie was based?

Answer: Jane Austen

In addition to adapting the screenplay, Ms. Thompson also played Elinor Dashwood. The cast was filled with talented actors like Alan Rickman, Kate Winslet and Hugh Laurie.
6. The film "Blazing Saddles" (1974) centered around a controversial choice for sheriff in a western town. Why was the choice questionable (according to the townspeople)?

Answer: He was black

Cleavon Little portrayed Bart, a wise-cracking African-American man who was appointed by a corrupt governor who wanted to ruin the town. Of course, Bart was clever and brave, so the town survived.
7. "Gone With the Wind" (1939) produced the first African-American Oscar-winner in an acting category. Who was this woman that played Mammy?

Answer: Hattie McDaniel

Hattie McDaniel and Vivien Leigh both won Academy Awards for their performances. Clark Gable and Olivia de Havilland were nominated but did not win.
8. In "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975), who was looking for the Grail?

Answer: King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table

The knights faced obstacles such as the French, decoys, a murderous bunny, and more. In 1976 it was nominated for a Hugo award for best dramatic presentation.
9. In "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", who plays Captain Jack Sparrow?

Answer: Johnny Depp

The usually-drunken and questionably-honorable Sparrow earned Johnny Depp his first Academy Award nomination. He used Keith Richards as an inspiration for his acting. Jimmy Buffet was offered a role in the film but had to decline.
10. In "The Money Pit" (1986), what project was taking up all of the main characters' money?

Answer: A dilapidated house

Tom Hanks and Shelley Long starred in this funny movie about fixing up a very bad house. Interestingly, the movie featured music from hair band "White Lion" before they released their debut album.
