"The Cave" was the third single from the album and was released as a CD single on the 2nd of March 2010. It was nominated for Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Song of the Year at the 54th Grammy Awards. It peaked at 27 on the US Billboard Hot 100, 32 on the Australian charts, 3 on the US Alternative charts and 2 at the US Rock Songs chart.

The music video involves the band riding around India on electric scooters. The band performed "The Cave" live at the 53rd Grammy Awards.

And then, when you get asked about the songs, it's quite difficult to explain."
