Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Hero of this 1996 film, who is often made fun of because of his looks

Answer: Quasimodo

Quasimodo is from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". This is an interesting film, that focuses on so many darker, deeper subjects other than your average kids believe. Everything from church, to religion, to appearances are mentioned throughout this film, leading it to be a darker Disney film.
2. 1942 character who loses his mom, from a hunter's rifle

Answer: Bambi

In the movie "Bambi", a hunter seeks to kill and successfully kills Bambi's mom while they are out and about. This is about the most evil villain, we come across with a Disney film. We all know hunters are out there to kill, get a trophy, and to survive and eat. For a kid's movie, this is overall pretty morbid.
3. 1994 villain, who has a plan to murder a family member

Answer: Scar

In the movie "The Lion King", Scar has a whole segment where he plans to kill Mufasa. It's commonly thought that the scene of Scar singing "Be Prepared" is directly in correlation to Hitler and his command, but this has never been confirmed or denied. Either way, with a brother plotting out to kill his own brother, is morbid enough.
4. This 2003 character, loses his mother and siblings before he is even born.

Answer: Nemo

In "Finding Nemo", Marlin and Coral are discussing what they are going to name their 400+ children. In this process, they start talking, and realize that everyone in their neighborhood has hidden from this intruding barracuda. Coral, doing the motherly thing goes to protect their kids, and ends up getting killed. All the children, also get killed, except Nemo, who ends up with a defect, his small lucky fin.
5. 2013 film that has two sisters, this specific one runs off and freezes her home.

Answer: Elsa

Early on in the movie "Frozen", Anna gets frozen by Elsa's ice powers. Elsa tries to contain her powers, by staying in her room mostly, and begs for her parents to not go overseas. Her parents ensure her she will be fine, and her parents end up capsizing and dying.

It is believed that, due to the similarities in the looks, and the timeline, that the parents were headed towards Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding from "Tangled". This has not been confirmed, and just a conspiracy theory, although, if you add up the timelines, it does make sense.
6. 1981 fox who makes friends with a neighboring pup after the fox's mother is killed

Answer: Tod

"The Fox and the Hound" is another less known Disney movie, that is forgotten about quite frequently. Throughout this movie, hunting is a very strong subject, as Tod's best friend, Copper, and his owner, are a huge hunting family. When it comes to the end and Tod is about to be shot himself, Copper stands up for him, and doesn't allow his owner to shoot him. "When you're the best of friends...having so much fun together..."
7. 1941 character who gets drunk with his mouse friend in a specific scene

Answer: Dumbo

In the movie "Dumbo", Dumbo and Timothy Mouse accidentally become drunk, when they thought they were just drinking water, that turned out to be spiked with alcohol. Since it got spiked with alcohol the whole song of "Pink Elephants on Parade", is Dumbo and Timothy Mouse's viewpoints of being drunk and seeing this. They later wake up, completely hungover.
8. 1951 female lead who experiences sad, weird, and dramatic events in a rabbit hole

Answer: Alice

The new trailer that has released for the new live action version of "Alice in Wonderland", appears to come off a horror movie. It represents the original very well, and puts a perspective on how strange the original animated one really is. From everything with a caterpillar not helping her while she's drowning, to appearing she has smoked something, this movie is very high up on the list of disturbing scenes.
9. 2001 green one eyed monster, whose main goal is to become a scarer

Answer: Mike Wazowski

In the movie "Monsters Inc." Mike's main goal is to become a scarer from a very young age. Although, this movie ends on a pretty good note, with Sully and Mike making friends with Boo, the concept of having a movie about scaring children is quite dark. Gratefully, they added some happiness to it, as well as the typical Disney sadness, this movie is filled with all types of different emotions.

There is a prequel to this movie called "Monsters University", which strangely enough, doesn't fully add up to equal "Monsters Inc.". Sully and Mike meet in "Monsters Inc." being scarers, but they supposedly meet in college during "Monsters University".
10. 1991 princess who develops a syndrome where you fall in love with your captor.

Answer: Belle

In the movie, "Beauty and the Beast", Belle lives alone with just her father, and when he disappears, she runs off to go find him. In the process, she stumbles across a castle, and takes place of her father who was captured earlier. Belle eventually begins to develop feelings for this captor, the Beast, and after she expresses her true love, the Beast returns to his normal human self.

They end up living happily ever after, but this is way after the dark side of this movie is portrayed. I mean, "for who could ever learn to love a beast?"
