Officially named "Harminder Sahib" which means 'abode of God', this Sikh gurudwara is popularly known as the "Golden Temple" due to its gold-plated exterior. Located in the city of Amritsar in Punjab, India, it is regarded as one of the holiest sites for followers of Sikhism. A community kitchen run entirely by volunteers provides free meals to visitors throughout the day.
2. Nicknamed the "Land of the Golden Pagodas".

Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is located in Southeast Asia and shares land borders with India, China, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Laos. A majority of its population identifies as Buddhist and pagodas, a type of Buddhist temple, are found throughout the country.

In Yangon, a popular tourist attraction is the Shwedagon Pagoda which is nicknamed the Golden Pagoda because of its gilded exterior. It is considered to be one of the most sacred sites in the country.
