"National Lampoon's Animal House" is a 1978 film by director John Landis. It tells the story of the Delta fraternity and their battles with both their rival frat, Omega house, and the stodgy dean of students. An ROTC cadet and member of Omega house, Doug Neidermeyer (Mark Metcalf) is portrayed as a bully (yelling at Flounder in the stable), a social weasel (never at a loss for kiss-up points), and always ready to fight. During the epilogue, it's revealed that Neidermeyer was killed by his own troops.

The now-adult Scott Smalls (Arliss Howard) narrates the entire film. During the film, newly-arrived neighborhood kid, Scott Smalls (Tom Guiry) uses his stepdad's Babe Ruth autographed baseball in a sandlot game. Most of the rest of the film shows the boys trying to retrieve the ball (which, ironically, was Smalls' first homerun). Timmy and Tommy both search for ways to reach the ball without actually stepping foot in the yard (there is a giant "gorilla-dog thing" that lives back there).

Their first attempts were pretty basic.

They kept failing at getting the ball back, but they did invent something that resembled bungee jumping - a harness tied with ropes in the back. When the epilogue says they were pioneers, Scott says they all knew why.

Now-adult Gordie LaChance (Richard Dreyfuss), who became a novelist, had been writing about the friends he had when he was twelve. In the epilogue, we find out it was Chris, the leader of the pack of friends. Chris (River Phoenix) was looked at as a thug automatically by the people of town, simply because of his family's reputation.

The irony of the situation is (as Gordie puts it) that "Chris, who would always make the best peace, tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly." If Chris really did make the best peace and tried to break up a fight in a fast food restaurant, for him to get killed is very ironic.

In the epilogue, 19 years later, Harry's son is getting ready to go to Hogwarts. As he and Harry stand in front of the column that becomes Platform 9¾, Albus Potter is nervous, not only to go, but he is concerned about which House he will be sorted into. We also see Ginny and Harry's daughter in the scene.

Hermione and Ron are there, seeing the older of their two daughters off to Hogwarts as well.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" is the movie chronicling the formation of the rock band Queen. Much of the film deals with lead singer Freddie Mercury and his struggle with his homosexuality. The epilogue text reads "Freddie Mercury died of AIDS-related pneumonia on the 24th November 1991.

He was 45 years old. Freddie [Rami Malek] and Jim [Aaron McCusker] enjoyed a loving relationship for the remainder of Freddie's life. Freddie and Mary Austin [Lucy Boynton] were life-long friends. He was cremated in the tradition of his family's Zoroastrian faith. "Bohemian Rhapsody" [the song] was re-released two weeks later and reached #1 again...16 years after its initial release.

In 1992, Queen and [manager] Jim Beach [Tom Hollander] established The Mercury Phoenix Trust in Freddie's honor, dedicated to fighting AIDS worldwide."

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was released in 1982 and still resonates today. Many of the issues the characters were facing are issues that we still deal with. The movie follows the individual stories of Brad, Linda, Stacy, Mark, Mike, Jeff, Mr. Hand (History), and Mr. Vargas (Biology). The kids struggle with the typical high school stuff - working and going to school, boyfriends, girlfriends, betrayal, sports, crushes, schoolwork, and even unintentional pregnancy.

What happened to them? "Brad Hamilton made manager of Mi-T-Mart June 12 / Mike Damone busted for scalping Ozzy Osbourne tickets. Now working at 7/11 / Mr. Vargas switched back to coffee / Linda Barrett attending college in Riverside. Now living with her Abnormal Psych professor / Rat & Stacy having a passionate love affair...but still haven't gone all the way / Mr. Hand is convinced everyone is on dope / Jeff Spicoli saved Brooke Shields from drowning and blows reward money hiring Van Halen to play his birthday party."

"42" tells the true story of Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman), the first African American player in Major League Baseball. He broke the "color barrier" in 1947, playing for the [then] Brooklyn Dodgers. It took a lot of courage, both from Jackie, his manager Leo Durocher (Christopher Meloni), and their owner, Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford).

The prevailing opinion was that African Americans didn't belong in baseball. According to the epilogue, Eddie Stanky became a manager for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, and the Texas Rangers. Branch Rickey was inducted into the Hall in 1967; Pee Wee Reese was inducted in 1984; and Jackie Robinson was inducted in 1962.

"Schindler's List" is the true story of industrialist and war profiteer Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson) and how his thirst for more money and influence led him to an understanding that his money was being made on the backs of concentration camp Jews. He began to see Jews as human beings, not the animals that Nazi propaganda portrayed them as. Schindler and his accountant Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley) begin compiling a list of people to move from the camps to his own self-contained compound, where his "workforce" would be housed. In reality, they were compiling a list of people who would be safe and hopefully saved. In the end, they saved over 1100 people. Amazing.

According to the epilogue, Nazi work camp overseer Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes) was hanged for crimes against humanity. They never mention what happens to the rabbi. He was a minor character and I only picked him as a distraction from Schindler. They never tell what happens to Stern. After a bit of research, there never was an Itzhak Stern. The character was an amalgamation of a few accountants that Schindler worked with.

The text that says Schindler was a righteous person reads: "In 1958, he was declared a righteous person by the council of the Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, and invited to plant a tree in the Avenue of the Righteous.

"Stripes" is the story of John Winger (Bill Murray) and Russell Ziskey (Harold Ramis), best friends whose lives are not really going anywhere. John talks Russell into joining the Army with him. Once they arrive at basic training, they meet their drill sergeant, Sgt Hulka (Warren Oates) and immediately get off on the wrong foot with him. Hulka is later injured when a wayward mortar shell hits his observation tower, so the recruits have to finish the last two days of basic training on their own. They nearly overslept for graduation because they were up all night practicing. They rush to the parade grounds where they put on a demonstration that so impressed a general that they were handpicked to work on a new Top Secret project: an urban assault vehicle, disguised as a motor home. They are then stationed in Europe. John wants to borrow the motor home for an afternoon to visit their girlfriends in West Germany, but they end up in Czechoslovakia (this 1981 film really shows its age). Their daring escape and rescue of their commanding officer make them heroes and nationally famous. One of the girlfriends appears on the cover of "Penthouse" magazine, the commander got stationed at a weather station in Alaska, and all of them (except the commander) are awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.

Sergeant Hulka opens HulkaBurger on his retirement. The montage shows him on the cover of the "Springfield Daily Examiner" newspaper, with the headline "Army Hero Retires" and the subheading "Announces HulkaBurger Franchise."

Chronicling the events leading up to and after the OK Corral shootout, "Tombstone" tells the stories of Wyatt (Kurt Russell), Virgil (Sam Elliott), and Morgan Earp (Bill Paxton), brothers who move with their wives to the thriving Old West-era boom-town of Tombstone. Their goal is to strike it rich in the silver-mining boom-town. Both former frontier lawmen, Wyatt and Virgil debate this ethical dilemma: ignore the lawlessness and corruption going through town, or do they resume their careers as lawmen? They do become the local lawmen and get involved in the events at the OK Corral. After the shootout, the gang of outlaws ambush Morgan and Virgil. Morgan dies as a result of his injuries and Virgil is left with the use of only one of his arms. As the rest of the family leaves town, Wyatt stays behind to even the score.

Wyatt's wife, Maddie (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson) is addicted to opiates - her preferred drug coming in the form of laudanum (liquid opium). Maddie leaves Tombstone with Allie and Louisa. She is not seen in the film after that. The narration at the end explains that she died of a drug overdose.
