Fun Trivia
Quiz Creation Guidelines are generic and apply to all categories in Quizzyland. The creation notes in here outline some of the peculiarites which apply only to movies quizzes.

[ 1 ] Movie quizzes should be about films that have had a theatrical release, and players should be able to answer questions by having watched the movie and its credits. If extra knowledge (for example DVD extras) is required, this must be stated in the introduction.
[ 2 ] Interesting information should be both relevant and factual (not just opinion), and give players a little something extra. Two or three sentences that add to the question and answer are the goal. For Match quizzes a bit more info is requested.
[ 3 ] Please avoid questions about picky details, such as license plate numbers, how many shots were fired, the colour of someone's shirt, etc, which will not be accepted unless there is a good reason for a player to remember the answer, such as a plot point turning on that detail. We encourage all players to take quizzes that already exist on your chosen topic so that you can better come up with questions that haven't been asked already.
[ 4 ] Questions containing objectionable language (including quotes) will not be accepted. Country-specific questions, such as release dates, and monetary questions are unacceptable as the answers may vary. Fill in the blank questions should be kept to no more than two in a ten question quiz (except in Movies Word Play). For photo quizzes, no screenshots from movies or recognizable faces please.
[ 5 ] Ten or fifteen question quizzes are preferred for Movies quizzes. If you have enough questions for a longer quiz, consider making two quizzes instead.

Please note that actor and character names must be spelled correctly e.g. Nicolas Cage not Nicholas Cage. If you don't know the correct spelling, or are unsure, look it up at www.imdb.com, which is an excellent resource for verifying information.

QCNs for Movies Trivia Questions

1. What kind of html coding can be used in a quiz?

From Quiz
Movies Quizmaker Tune-Up

Answer: none

The FunTrivia system used to not recognize the space when you use a carriage return, so authors would have to use the html tag to get it to go through. However, the system has been updated to recognize carriage returns, and no html is permitted in quizzes.

2. What will happen if my quiz is not original or different?

From Quiz I Can't Do What?

Answer: Your quiz will be rejected

Yes, sad but true, it will be rejected. Possibly deleted too. Please don't waste all your valuable time creating a quiz, only to have it possibly taken away from you.

3. Which movie does not have a restriction on it?

From Quiz I Can't Do What?

Answer: Linka A Lot In The Fun Trivia Land Goes To Outer Space

Usually when a movie has numerous quizzes on it, it might be added to the "Restricted" area also.

4. What is the word limit on FITB answers in the Movies category?

From Quiz Movies Quizmaker Tune-Up

Answer: 4

We do not permit FITB answers that exceed four words. That means "The Lord of the Rings" cannot ever be used as a FITB answer. We also do not permit FITB answers that call for punctuation. An example of something not allowed under that rule would be "A Knight's Tale".
