Metroid Games Trivia Questions

1. Which "Metroid" game, released in 2002, introduced us to such areas as the Chozo Ruins and the Phendrana Drifts?

From Quiz
Which "Metroid" Game is It?

Answer: Metroid Prime

"Metroid Prime" was the first 3D "Metroid" game and the first "Metroid" game made by Retro Studios. It has sold more than 1.5 million copies, and is generally regarded as one of the best video games of all time.

2. How many beam weapons are in "Metroid" (NES)?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [3] - Weapons & Gizmos

Answer: Three

In the original "Metroid", there was the long beam, the wave beam, and the ice beam. The wave beam shoots through walls, the ice beam can freeze enemies and metroids, while the long beam allowed players to shoot from one side of the screen to the other

3. The main story ("Metroid", "Metroid II", "Super Metroid", "Metroid Fusion") takes place in which Planets/Stations/Clusters?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [1] - Basic Planetary Info

Answer: Zebes, SR388, Zebes, BSL

The order Samus enters these planets is Zebes, where she destroys the space pirate base, SR388, where Samus destroys the Metroid species, Zebes where she destroys the entire planet, and the Biological Space Lab (BSL), where Samus learns that executing the Metroid species, was a bad, bad idea. It seems in the main story, everywhere Samus explores explodes in some manner, in "Super Metroid" Zebes is destroyed, and in "Metroid Fusion" the BSL floats into SR388, destroying both.

4. What alien race gave Samus her Power Suit?

From Quiz Metroid

Answer: the Chozo

Samus meets the Luminoth in "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes", which is long after she aquired her Power Suit. The Space Pirates are her main enemies. The Covenant are the main enemies in the "Halo" games.

5. "Metroid": What was the hero's name?

From Quiz Following Metroid

Answer: Samus Aran

The hero throughout the game was, at first, thought to be male. In the end you learned that Samus Aran is a woman.

6. What was the first "Metroid" game to feature Space Jump? (Do not confuse Space Jump with Screw Attack).

From Quiz The Metroid Series

Answer: "Metroid 2: Return of Samus"

Screw Attack first featured in "Metroid", but "Metroid 2" first had Space Jump.

7. The name of the main boss of this game is called?

From Quiz Classic "Metroid"

Answer: Mother Brain

The Mother Brain is the boss of the Metroid. Interestingly enough, it looks somewhat like Krang from the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series.

8. Which "Metroid" game, released in 1991, involved Samus attempting to exterminate the entire Metroid species?

From Quiz Which "Metroid" Game is It?

Answer: Metroid II: Return of Samus

"Metroid II" was not as well-received as the original, with reviews being not as good and sales being lower. However, it has been rereleased on the Nintendo 3DS's Virtual Console.

9. Which alloy is weak to regular Morph Ball bombs?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [2] - Alloys & Blocks

Answer: Talloric Alloy

Although sandstone IS weak to Morph Ball bombs, it is not an ALLOY, it is a stone. Morph Ball bombs have been a tremendous help in all "Metroid" games, including "Super Metroid" where a limitless amount of bomb-jumping can get you almost any upgrade in the game.

10. The Alimbic Cluster consists of which Planets?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [1] - Basic Planetary Info

Answer: Alinos, Arcterra, Oubliette

Anaphractia is not a thing in the "Metroid" universe, Norion is the GF (Galactic Federation) home planet, and the Space Pirate Homeworld is not even near the Alimbic Cluster. The Alimbic Cluster is composed of Alinos, Arcterra, Oubliette, Celestial Archives and the Vesper Defense Outpost.

11. What happened to planet Zebes in "Metroid?"

From Quiz The Metroid Series

Answer: It exploded

The time bomb made the planet partially explode.

12. The code name you can put in followed by dashes to make strange (and wonderful) things happen is?

From Quiz Classic "Metroid"

Answer: Justin Bailey

Several theories exist as to the meaning of 'Justin Bailey'. Some think it refers to someone who worked on creating the game. Others think the word 'bailey' in an old British word for 'bathing suit', which is what Samus appears to be wearing when the code is activated.

13. Which "Metroid" game, which is often described as more linear than its predecessors, introduced the X Parasites and the SA-X, a clone of Samus?

From Quiz Which "Metroid" Game is It?

Answer: Metroid Fusion

"Metroid Fusion" was released on the Game Boy Advance in 2002. It is viewed as the last game in the series's timeline.

14. Samus' Gunship can destroy objects made of what metal?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [2] - Alloys & Blocks

Answer: Maldium

Samus' Gunship has been called that ever since "Metroid Prime" yet it never had a 'gun' until "Metroid Prime 3". Samus' Gunship was made in some junkyard planet called Aliehs III, but Samus designed the gunship herself based on Federation designs and Chozo designs.

15. Which planets are home to species that have traded with the Chozo?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [1] - Basic Planetary Info

Answer: Aether, Bryyo

Zebes and Tallon IV were home to the Chozo, and the Space Pirates are the enemy of the Chozo. K-2L is the place where Samus was born. Aether is home to the Luminoth, a moth-like alien, Bryyo is home to the Reptilica's who make golems and stuff, and Elysia is home to robot peoples who makes everything into a robot. The original robots were made by the Chozo, who left the planet for Tallon IV.

16. Who is the leader of the Space Pirates and Samus's arch enemy?

From Quiz Metroid

Answer: Ridley

If you guessed the Mother Brain, you were close, but not quite there. The Mother Brain isn't the Space Pirate leader, she simply controls the systems of the Space Pirate fortresses on Planet Zebes in "Metroid"/"Metroid Zero Mission" and "Super Metroid". There is no individual named Metroid, they are a dangerous race of creatures that Samus usually finds herself hunting in the games. Kraid is one of the Space Pirate leaders, but he's below Ridley.

17. "Metroid": What were Mother Brain's life-support columns called?

From Quiz Following Metroid

Answer: Zebetites

The life-support columns that you had to blast through to get to the gangster, Mother Brain, were called Zebetites.

18. In the beginning of "Metroid 2: Return of Samus," how many metroids does it say you need to defeat?

From Quiz The Metroid Series

Answer: 39

There are different varieties of metroids that get stronger as the game goes on.

19. Which "Metroid" game, while well-regarded, features such oddities as not having a map and a Kraid that is no larger than Samus?

From Quiz Which "Metroid" Game is It?

Answer: Metroid

"Metroid" was the first game in the series. It was revolutionary for the time, and mixed the sidescrolling of the "Mario" series with the exploration of the "Legend of Zelda" series.

20. Multiple games take place on the same planet. Which is the correct pairing?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [1] - Basic Planetary Info

Answer: "Metroid", "Super Metroid", "Metroid: Zero Mission" - Zebes

"Metroid", "Super Metroid", and "Metroid: Zero Mission" all take place on Zebes, in "Metroid" Samus blows up Mother Brain and the pirate base. "Metroid: Zero Mission" is a remake of "Metroid" where Samus is shot down by a Space Pirate Mothership, and must infiltrate the Pirate Mothership without her awesome powersuit, but she regains it and kills a metallic resident that is unfinished. "Super Metroid" is where Samus blows up the entire planet Zebes. This must've been hard seeing as she spent over ten years living and training there.

21. Which film series has "Metroid" often been compared to?

From Quiz Metroid

Answer: "Alien"

The two franchises have a surprisingly long list of things in common. Both of them star a woman, both of them simply have the name of their creature nemesis as the name of the series and first installment, both of the creatures' "homeworlds" (although LV-426 isn't the Alien homeworld) are a sequence of letters and numbers instead of actual names, both focus on travelling to a planet inhabited by them in the second, both of the fourth installments involve the main character having some of the creatures' DNA inside them, and both take place in a similar futuristic sci-fi universe. In fact, Ridley was named after the director of "Alien", Ridley Scott. "Star Wars" and "Godzilla" are just not correct, and "Halo" isn't a movie series at all (yet).

22. "Metroid": What is the first power-up the hero could get in the game?

From Quiz Following Metroid

Answer: Maru Mari

The first power-up available is the Maru Mari, just to the left of the entrance.

23. Besides the Queen Metroid, which type of metroid is the strongest?

From Quiz The Metroid Series

Answer: Omega Metroid

Alpha is the weakest, then Gamma is second weakest, then Zeta is the second strongest, and Omega is the strongest.

24. Which game was set in the light and dark worlds of Aether and had the first fight against Dark Samus?

From Quiz Which "Metroid" Game is It?

Answer: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

"Metroid Prime 2", while not as popular in sales as the first "Metroid Prime", was still successful. The series would later reach its conclusion with "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption". It is generally regarded as one of the hardest "Metroid" games.

25. What upgrade is not in "Metroid Prime"?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [3] - Weapons & Gizmos

Answer: X-ray Scope

The X-ray Scope is from "Super Metroid" and is replaced by the X-ray Visor in "Metroid Prime". "Metroid Prime" is the only prime game to feature the Power Suit, the rest of the games in the prime series have the Varia Suit. The Phazon Beam is activated right before the fight with Metroid Prime's second form, and after being overloaded with phazon, the Metroid Prime transforms into it's third form which attacks Samus and...

26. Denzium metal is usually found in what form?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [2] - Alloys & Blocks

Answer: Metal Gates

If you thought the question said Bendezium metal, it is usually found in rubble or ore form, but this question is about Denzium. Bendezium is found in "Metroid Prime" in solid blocks and rubble and also a couple gates, but that's in the pirate bases. Denzium is only found in "Metroid Prime 2".

27. What planet do the Luminoth live on?

From Quiz The "Metroid" Universe [1] - Basic Planetary Info

Answer: Aether

They live on planet aether, and have fought numerous wars and lost almost all of their population. Only one Luminoth is seen on the planet, the rest are dead, although there is stasis pods, and about 10-ish (maybe more) Luminoths can be seen at the end of "Metroid Prime 2".

28. Where did Samus's parents die?

From Quiz Metroid

Answer: K-2L

They were killed by the Space Pirates and Ridley. This inspired a deep hatred for both of them in Samus. The orphaned Samus was discovered by the Chozo, who took her in as their own, trained her in the Chozo ways, infused her with Chozo blood, and gave her the Power Suit, thereby setting off the events of the games.

29. "Metroid": Which factor most impacted the ending?

From Quiz Following Metroid

Answer: Elapsed Time

In the first "Metroid", the only real factor (other than a password entry) that impacted the ending was the amount of time taken to complete the game.
