The Academy Award-winning 'Black Hawk Down' is set amongst the wartorn landscape of Somalia in the early 1990s. The film, and indeed the novel, is based on true events occurring in Mogadishu, the Somalian capital, and the US Army's efforts to apprehend the warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid.

The high profile cast saw critics praise the film, and it won Academy Awards for Editing and Sound, though it didn't go down too well with some of the Somalian population.

Answer: Meet Joe Black

Brad Pitt plays Death who wishes to experience life on Earth after "an eternity of boredom", so he appeals to a dying man, played by Anthony Hopkins, and offers him a few more days of life in exchange for being a guide to death. Death manifests itself in a human form by using the body of a recently deceased young man after a tragic car accident.

In the 1934 film 'Death Takes a Holiday', upon which 'Meet Joe Black' is based, Death takes on a human form to discover why he is feared amongst humans.

'Blackadder' ran for four series during the late 1980s with Rowan Atkinson in the title role, accompanied by his constant companion Baldrick, played by Tony Robinson. Each series of 'Blackadder' takes place in a different era of history, from the end of the Middle Ages to Elizabethan England, to the Regency period, to World War I. 'Blackadder' is consistently ranked as one of the best British sitcoms of all-time.
