"Two Brothers" was released in 2004. The film is set in Cambodia in the 1930s and tells the story of two tiger cubs that are separated and reared in very different ways. They meet again as adults. It was directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, who also directed the 1989 film "The Bear".

Old Shep's master died in Fort Benton and his body was taken to the station to be transported to his relatives. Old Shep kept watch at the station, greeting every train that arrived, until 1942, when he fell onto the tracks and was hit by a train. Apparently he was no relation of the Old Shep immortalised in Elvis Presley's song of the same name.

"The Snow Goose" was made for TV in 1971. It is based on the novel by Paul Gallico and co-starred Jenny Agutter. It is a sensitive story of a reclusive lighthouse keeper and the friendship he forms with a young girl who brings him an injured goose to nurse back to health. "The Wild Geese" is anything but sensitive, being the story of a group of mercenaries in Africa, but I did have a bit of a weep at the end. Richard Burton, Roger Moore and Barry Foster all co-starred with Richard Harris in "The Wild Geese".

Strangely enough, I liked the song even more after discovering its real meaning. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard charts in 1972. I saw the group live on their 25th Anniversary Tour - David Gates commented that if he'd have realised he'd still be singing the same songs 25 years on, he would have written them in a lower key! Sadly, both Mike Botts and Jimmy Griffin died from cancer in 2005.

Did you know that Walt Disney originally considered Bette Davis for the part of Mary Poppins? This was because in the book (written by P L Travers) Mary Poppins was a much more cold-hearted character than she appears in the film.

"The Dead Zone" is the story of a man called John Smith who spends five years in a coma. When he wakes, he discovers that he has precognitive powers. Sarah was his girlfriend, who has married another man whilst John was in his coma. A film of "The Dead Zone" was released in 1983, with Christopher Walken in the starring role.

England were leading 3-2 when some fans ran onto the pitch, thinking the game was over. Geoff Hurst scored England's fourth goal just after Wolstenholme started speaking - hence "It is now".

"My Dog Skip" was released in 2000 and tells the story of a shy boy growing up in 1940s Mississippi. Several Jack Russell terriers were used in the making of the film, among them being Moose, who famously played Eddie on the sitcom "Frasier".

OK, go ahead and laugh at me - everyone else does when I admit to that one. The tragic story of "Puff the Magic Dragon" is based on a poem written by Leonard Lipton. His friend Peter Yarrow added to the lyrics and provided the music. Yarrow later joined up with Paul Stookey and Mary Travers to form Peter, Paul and Mary. "Puff the Magic Dragon" reached No. 3 in the US charts in 1963.
