1. What was the name of the pilot who flew the Hunts to the Jivaro village?

Answer: Terry

Terry owned a battered old plane and when he was flying the Hunts to the Jivaro village he narrowly avoided crashing the plane on numerous occasions, causing Roger to feel sick.
2. What was the nickname given to the young orphaned tapir that the Hunts captured?

Answer: Nosey

The mother of the young tapir was shot by the Hunts when she tried to kill Hal to prevent him from harming her child.
3. Which of these animals was not captured by the Hunts during their adventure?

Answer: Crocodile

The Hunts met crocodiles on the way down the river but they never actually caught one. At one stage Roger tied a crocodile to Hal's canoe as a joke but his plan went wrong and the crocodile was injured by an Indian defending the Hunts. The blood that poured from the crocodile attracted piranhas.

The piranhas then proceeded to eat the crocodile; some were speared by an Indian and their meat served as a meal for the Hunt's team of animal catchers that evening.

Answer: They got it stuck on a mat of leaves with bird-lime

Aqua, an Indian friend of the Hunts who was teaching them the native language, told them to try this trick. The lime is like super glue and the jaguar got stuck in the lime when it pounced on an animal that was stuck on the trap before it. The lime was made from the juice of a breadfruit tree.
9. At the beginning of their journey through the jungle, the Hunts sailed down a tributary of the Amazon; what was the name of this river?

Answer: Pataza

The Hunts were asked by the American Geographical Society to map the lower Pataza because none of their men sent to map it came back.
