1. "Pasulj" is the Serbian name of a soup or stew and also the name of a type of food. Can you guess which?

Answer: Bean

Pasulj is a soup or stew made with White or Pinto Beans. It contains beans smoked meat and onion. If you are using white beans then add carrot. It is similar to the Navy bean soup I had in America.
2. In Serbia, we love our "pljeskavica".

Answer: It is a fried or grilled ground meat patty served alone on a plate or on a bun.

You can find pljeskavica served in fine dining establishments and at a fast food restaurant. Some places will let you choose your own condiments!

Answer: Cabbage

Kiseli kupus is what the Germans refer to as Sauerkraut. "Kiseli" meaning sour and "kupus" being Cabbage.

Answer: Sarma

Sarma is one of my favorites. The recipes will vary from home to home, with most of the basic ingredients staying intact. Cooking methods vary as well. It can be cooked in a pot on the stove, or in the oven. Tomato sauce is added as well to form a sauce.

Answer: Goulash

You can cook Paprikash on your stove but the best way is outside on a wood fire in a large pot. You can eat it by itself, or serve it on noodles or mashed potato.
6. In Serbia we have a dessert that is very similar to Crepes. We fill and roll them with cheese or jam. Can you name them?

Answer: Palacinka

They are very easy to make and they are delicious.
7. On very special holidays or celebrations in Serbia, we will cook a young pig or a young lamb with a "Razanj" What is this device?

Answer: Spit

It cooks on the spit for hours slowly. There is no meat more tasty and juicier then this!
8. Serbia is 3rd in the world for the exportation of this fruit. Can you name it?

Answer: Wild Raspberry

Serbia's major crops are wheat and Maize. 43% of their farming is field crop and 42% fruit and wine production.
9. If you are looking for something fast and wonderful you could go get yourself a piece of "burek". What is burek?

Answer: A type of savory pie

You can find burek everywhere. It's great after a night on the town or as an early breakfast. It can be found sold 24/7.
10. We have a popular rock band in Serbia named Riblja Čorba! They are named after a great dish. Can you name the dish?

Answer: Fish chowder

Riblja Čorba is a great rock band and the dish is superb as well. We hold outdoor cook offs in its honor.
