Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Daniel revealed another power in the beginning. What was it?

Answer: His ability to conjure up any song he'd ever heard

Daniel could conjure up any song that he had ever heard. He compared himself to an iPod, but explained that his brain was much more powerful. He could "hold" thousands of songs- even more. Daniel's songs were of a much better quality than any music player, as well. His father told him that his powers were growing.
2. What place on the List was the alien that stunned Daniel in the S-Mart?

Answer: Twenty-One

When Daniel noticed a large group of pregnant women loading their cars with fish food, he knew he had to investigate. He entered an S-Mart and saw Number Five's henchmen working on a makeshift film set. Leading them was Number 21, a gorilla-like alien named Dougie Starshine.

He was Number Five's production assistant and casting director. Number 21 shot at Daniel, who jumped high and stunned himself.
3. What was one of Daniel's weaknesses?

Answer: He was vulnerable if something rattled his brain

When Number 21 hit Daniel with an alien gun, the shockwave caused him to be thrown into the ceiling. He landed on the ground and was almost defenseless; he was dizzy and confused. Because he needed his mind to use his powers, he couldn't use them. Daniel realized that it was a major weakness.
4. What did Daniel and his friends pick up from the side of the road?

Answer: An injured dog

Daniel and his friends Willy, Emma, Joe, and Dana traveled in a modified minivan to search for evil aliens. They first saw a man covered in mud but could only watch him walk away. Then they almost hit an injured dog in the road. Emma, an avid nature lover, made Daniel pick it up. Willy examined the dog and pointed out that it had been burned- likely from an alien firearm.

They named the dog "Lucky."
5. Which alien was Daniel going after in this book?

Answer: Number Five

Daniel already beat Number Six, Ergent Seth, in the first story. This time his goal was Number Five. The alien had the head of a catfish and excelled in anything that had to do with electricity. It was able to control televisions and speak directly with a shocked Daniel at any time. Number Five created an alien reality show that showed humans getting turned into piles of sludge.
6. What did the enemy alien give the women of Holliswood?

Answer: Tins of caviar

Number Five had tins of caviar placed in the mailbox of every family in Holliswood. It came with a message stating that it was a gift to the women, from the KHAW news team. Daniel realized that there were hundreds of pregnant women running around buying fish food.

After analyzing the "caviar," he realized that it was the DNA of Number Five. The women were carrying thousands of little alien fish eggs.
7. Which of the following songs was NOT mentioned in the story?

Answer: "8 Days a Week" by The Beatles

Daniel used his brain to listen to any song he desired, including "Don't Fear the Reaper." Number Five used a variety of songs to hypnotize his victims into dancing for as long as he wanted them to. All of the firemen of Holliswood did "The Macarena" before he destroyed them. Number Five also played "Steal My Sunshine" to make the weatherman of KHAW dance.

There were several different songs mentioned.
8. Why were stores sold out of their fish food?

Answer: It was used to feed aliens

The impregnated women felt a need to buy as much fish food as they could from all of the stores in Holliswood. After they each gave birth in ponds, the fish food was used to feed the alien babies. Also, the aliens reduced humans to piles of black mush; the liquid was used for quick nourishment, along with motor oil.
9. What did Daniel turn into to defeat the lion/ant alien?

Answer: An African elephant

Daniel chose to change into one of the most powerful things he could think of: a full-grown African elephant. His home planet was the origin for the animal, and he felt a special connection to them. He modified the elephant he became, giving it the ability to make webs. Daniel knew an elephant/spider would defeat an ant/lion alien.
10. Which of the following powers did Daniel NOT use in the story?

Answer: He became an inanimate object

Daniel was getting more powerful as he grew older. He exhibited new powers, including teleportation. He tricked Number Five by goading him on, then transporting himself to safety two miles away. Daniel could also erase certain parts of peoples' memories. He controlled a real estate agent into treating his customers fairly, as well. Daniel never became an object in the story.
