Answer: Cymry, female

There was no male Cymry nor female Kantor. Kantor was Alberich's Companion. She saved him from being burned alive in Karse. Cymry was found by/ found Skif in the middle of a street and he tried to steal her away. In the song "Philosophy," sung by 'Skif,' there is a part about Cymry:

"This pretty horse out in the street no owner in my view,
I grabbed the reigns and hopped aboard,
I thought I was home free!
Until I looked into her eyes....
And now the joke's on me!"

Answer: The Hollybush

Skif's uncle, Kalchan Londer, owned one of the worst taverns in the entire area. The Hollybush's food was so terrible that Skif purloined food on a regular basis to avoid eating there.

3. Who was the first of Bazie's men that Skif meets in "Take A Thief"?

Answer: Deek

Deek is the one who finds Skif and introduces him to Bazie, Lyle, and Jarmin.

4. When Skif becomes a Herald, he ends up following in the footsteps of a Karsite Herald. Who is he?

Skif calls him Master Alberich several times, and Alberich is generally referred to as Alberich, but has the title "Herald Alberich" simply because he IS a Herald. He is the weaponsmaster at the Collegium also, and therefore "Weaponsmaster Alberich."

5. Skif is Talia's first sexual partner in the "Heralds of Valdemar" Trilogy.

Answer: False

Although Skif and Talia attempted many times to be sexual partners, they never actually achieved anything. So they gave up and became blood siblings instead. Talia later marries Dirk and has children. Skif gets a crush on Elspeth for a while (she marries Darkwind), then ends up marrying Nyara, the changeling daughter of Mornelithe Falconsbane.

6. What is Skif's uncle's name?

Answer: Londer Galko

In the first pages of "Take A Thief," Skif refers to his uncle as Londer. Other things you will learn about Skif: Skif's parents are dead and Londer owns a tavern named the Hollybush. "Take A Thief" is the only book based completely around Skif. Skif makes appearances as an important character in "The Mage Winds" trilogy and in "The Heralds of Valdemar" trilogy.

He may have appeared in "The Mage Storms" trilogy as well, but I haven't read that series yet.

Dirk was the only one listed who was from the Collegium. Lyle and Deek were Skif's thief friends. Maisie worked for Londer.

Answer: False

Lavan was the LAST FIRESTARTER. He burned down a whole forest. That gift has not shown up for many years. Griffon had very small skill with Firestarting. Skif's gifts were not really explained much. In fact, I'm not even sure if he had any other than the usual mindspeech...

Answer: Burned

Bazie died in the fire that engulfed his home.

10. Skif went to school before the Collegium in "Take A Thief".

Answer: True

The Queen, Selenay, believed all children should be educated. Therefore, the temple near Skif's "house" became a school. Skif attended school at that temple.
