Answer: Dialga and Palkia

In Japan, the movie was called "Dialga VS Palkia". In an otherworldly dimension, the legendary pokemon of space (Palkia) and time (Dialga) clash. They fight briefly, and the pearl on Palkia's left shoulder gets damaged. Meanwhile, in Alamos Town, scientist Tonio reads an old diary entry about a nightmare in which "two entities that never should have met crossed paths in a space-time rift", an event which would threaten the destruction of Alamos Town.

His scientific instruments pick up signals that this conflict is about to happen.

Answer: a calming leaf-whistle song

Ash and his friends make it to Alamos Town with the help of Alice, a tour guide who brings them over in her hot air balloon. As they fly over the city, they see the Space-Time towers, which were designed by the architect Godey a century ago. Alice takes everybody to a pokemon garden, where a fight over some pecha berries leaves a number of pokemon angry at each other.

She calms them down with "Oracion", a leaf-whistle song that her grandmother taught her.

Answer: Darkrai

After noticing that something is amiss, Ash and his friends come across some warped, damaged columns in the pokemon garden. While Tonio tries to determine the cause of the damage, Baron Alberto makes his debut, and suggests that Darkrai was the cause of the damage. Darkrai appears out of the shadows, and in the ensuing fight, ends up putting Ash into a nightmare-induced sleep. Ash eventually wakes up in the local pokemon center, shaken but none the worse for wear.

Answer: Lickilicky

In a flashback, Darkrai is befriended by Alicia, Alice's grandmother. Alicia shows kindness to Darkrai, who is hated by the other pokemon for causing them nightmares. Later, after a musical demonstration at the Space-Time Towers, more spatial distortions occur, and Darkrai appears again. Baron Alberto attempts to attack Darkrai once more, and fails again. During the fight, his Lickilicky is put into a nightmare-induced sleep, and the baron himself turns into Lickilicky.

Answer: manifestations of pokemon nightmares

When Darkrai is attacked again, he responds by using Dark Void, knocking many pokemon into nightmare-induced slumbers. Immediately afterwards, hallucinations of pokemon start appearing around town. As the affected pokemon are moved to the local pokemon center, Tonio concludes that they are a result of "the real world merging with the dream world" and that the pokemon are "dreaming of being chased by something frightening".

He also concludes that Baron Alberto turned into a Lickilicky because his Lickilicky dreams of being him.

Answer: looping barrier of white fog

While Ash and his friends are still pondering the unusual events unfolding, three trainers come with the news that they are stuck in Alamos Town. A white fog encircles the town, and attempts to escape result in a loop back into the city. Though Alice and Tonio are not convinced, Baron Alberto is sure that everything is Darkrai's doing, and leads a group of trainers to attack and destroy Darkrai yet again. Though they surround and attack Darkrai, he manages to fend them off once more.

Answer: to escape from Dialga

Analyzing footage of the most recent spatial distortions, Tonio discovers a fleeting image of Palkia. Damaged from fighting, Palkia escaped to Alamos Town in an attempt to avoid further conflict with Dialga. Palkia remained where it appeared, invisible atop the Space-Time Towers. Palkia doesn't get much of a break though: having sensed its presence, Darkrai attempts to attack it. Palkia reacts by transporting Alamos Town and everybody in it into another dimension.

Answer: it starts disintegrating

When Palkia transports Alamos Town to another dimension, affected pokemon are released from their nightmares. However, Dialga quickly finds Palkia and resumes their fighting. The town does not react well to the space-time clash it is caught around: the energy expended in the fight starts collapsing the dimension and disintegrating the town. With little choice in options, Darkrai intervenes in the fight, and attacks them both.

Answer: with the activation of the Space-Time Towers

As everything around them disintegrates, Ash and Dawn make it to the top of the Space-Time Towers. With some quick thinking, they fit the "Oracion" disc to its proper slot and activate the tower. The Space-Time Tower plays "Oracion", sending out rays of brilliant energy.

The song calms Dialga and Palkia, and heals Palkia's damaged pearl. With the conflict resolved, Palkia brings Alamos Town back to its proper place in the space-time continuum.

Darkrai intervenes in the fight between Dialga and Palkia, holding the two at bay to delay the space-time damage done by their clash. The two aren't held off for long though: they attack and apparently destroy Darkrai while Ash goes to activate the Space-Time Towers.

As the sun sets on the day, Ash and Alice reflect on how Darkrai had helped save them. However, Darkrai rises out of the shadows, standing watch over Alamos Town once again.
