Answer: Edinburgh

The 1972 competition was held at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland. Usher Hall is the home of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and is famous for its organ.

It should have been held in Monaco, but that country was unable to provide the technical resources.
2. Which country won the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest?

Answer: Luxembourg

Luxembourg won with its entry "Apres toi" ("After You"). Sung by Vicky Leandros, it was a ballad about a woman whose lover had gone.

Answer: The New Seekers

The New Seekers were formed from the remnants of The Seekers, a folk group. The New Seekers' best-known hit was "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", in 1971.

Ireland sang its entry, "Ceol an Ghra" ("The Music of Love") in Irish Gaelic.
