Answer: Deep Within

Within Temptation is a Dutch metal band. It was founded in 1996 by Sharon den Adel (who is now the vocalist of the band) and Robert Westerholt (the guitarist). "Deep Within" is a track from their first album, "Enter", which was released in 1997. In contrast with the rest of their work, this album is darker and it has death grunts, which are provided by Robert Westerholt.

"Enter" is taken from the album with the same name. As I said before, this was the first Within Temptation album. It was very well received by the public, so the band started their first international tour. Meanwhile, the drummer Ivar de Graaf left the band, Ciro Palma replacing him.

"Ice Queen" is the second single from their second album, "Mother Earth". The first single, "Our Farewell", never entered the charts, but "Ice Queen" reached number two in Holland and even number one in Belgium and in the end gained the Platinum record.

Also taken from "Mother Earth", The Promise is about a woman who swears to revenge her lover's death. One year after the release of this album, in 2001, the band went through a lot of changes: a second guitarist was added in the person of Ruud Adrianus Jolie, Stephen van Haestregt became the drummer and Martijn Westerholt left the band due to his illness (infectious mononucleosis).

He was replaced by Martijn Spierenburg and later started his own project, the band "Delain".

"Stand My Ground" is the first single from their third album, "The Silent Force", both the single and album reaching #1 in the European charts. "Stand My Ground" was also part of the soundtrack of the movie "Blood and Chocolate". Two years later, Within Temptation won the "Dutch Pop Prize" (although they are a metal band) and the "Dutch Export Prize".

The single "Angels" was released in June 2005. At the same time, the band appeared at various festivals, such as "Rock Am Ring", "Sweden Rock" or "Gurtenfest" and toured with Iron Maiden and Rammstein. Two months later, Within Temptation received the award for "Best Selling Dutch Artist In The World". "The Silent Force" was also released in Japan, Australia and the UK.

"Aquarius" is a Latin word which means "the water bearer" and it is also a track on Within Temptation's "The Silent Force".

Meanwhile, on the professional plan, Within Temptation won for the third time in a row the "Dutch Export Award" and a Golden God Award for "Best Video" from the magazine "Metal Hammer". They continued to play on rock festivals in Europe and, for the first time, in Japan.

"The Cross" is taken from their album, "The Heart of Everything". One of the founders of the band, Robert Westerholt, commented on the official site of the band: "Although you can still clearly hear that this is a Within Temptation record, many things have changed and evolved. Sharon shows how versatile she is as a singer more than on any record we've done. On some songs, she sings with a lot of power; on other songs she is more melodic... a siren enchanting her subjects. Sometimes she is emotional and sensitive.

The guitars also play a larger part, and we have added an extra dimension to our new songs too by enhancing them with historic samples, as we did on "Our Solemn Hour". Compared to "The Silent Force", our new album is more dynamic and energetic.

Answer: What Have You Done

The single "What Have You Done", in which the voice of Keith Caputo from Life of Agony can be heard, was released in February 2007. At that time, the band had won the "Dutch Export Award" for the fourth time in a row. Within Temptation received suggestions from the fans for this video, but the result wasn't what they had expected, so they made a second version of this video.

Answer: Frozen

"Frozen", the second single from "The Heart of Everything" was released in June 2007 and the video was filmed in Romania. The purpose of this video was to draw attention to domestic abuse. Part of this goal was attained by making a huge donation to "Child Helpline International", a global network of child helplines.
