Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Genesis 19: Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have *______* with them."

Answer: relations

Relations means intercourse. This is why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The men of the town wanted to have relations with the men seen entering Lot's home, but these men in Lot's home were actually angels. God said there were no righteous men in these towns so He asked Lot to gather his family together and leave before He destroyed the two towns.
2. 1 Corinthians 13: *_______* is patient, is kind and is not jealous, does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly, it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Answer: Love

1 Corinthians 13 is my favorite book and chapter in the Bible. Love is what it is all about. We are supposed to love our Lord, our enemies, our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Verse 13 says "But now faith, hope, love abide these three; but the greatest of these is love."
3. Galatians 5: Now the deeds of the *______* are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkeness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forwarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Answer: flesh

This scripture is full of old words and I didn't know what they meant so I looked them up in the concordance in the back of my Bible. Immorality refers to immoral acts like sexual immorality. Impurity is unclean. Idolatry refers to worship of idols. Sorcery is witchcraft. Enmities is hostility. Strife refers to a quarrel. Dissensions and factions refer to division. Envy refers to jealousy and discontent. Carousing is partying or riotous bahavior.
4. Galatians 5: But the fruit of the *_______* is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law.

Answer: Spirit

The scripture goes on to say those who belong to Christ have given up the deeds of the flesh and follow the fruit of the Spirit. Love seems to be in a lot of scriptures. Perhaps God wants us to love Him and everyone we meet.
5. Ephesians 1: In Him we have *______* through his blood, the forgiveness, of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished on us.

Answer: redemption

Ephesians 1 tells of the blessings of redemption. Redemption means deliverance. Through redemption we are able to achieve eternal life in heaven.
6. Genesis 6: "Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and *______*."

Answer: Japheth

Seth is the third son of Adam and Eve. Lamech is the son of Methuselah. Kenan was the son of Enosh. From Noah's three sons all the earth was populated after God destroyed the rest of the world with the flood. God told Noah that He would never flood the earth again and He gave us the rainbow to remind us of this.
7. Proverbs 3: For whom the Lord *______* He reproves, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Answer: loves

In Proverbs 3 the Lord tells us not to reject discipline from Him because this shows us He loves us. Proverbs 3 tells us the rewards of wisdom.
8. Proverbs 1: The fear of the *______* is the beginning of knowledge, fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Answer: Lord

Proverbs 1 tells us the usefulness of proverbs to live by. Some proverbs may be straight forward or they may be riddles or even parables. Proverbs 8 tells us what it means to fear the Lord which is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the perverted mouth.
9. Revelation 13: And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a *______* on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the *______*, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Answer: mark

The beast in reference here is the Beast from the Earth. Revelation 13:18 "Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty six."
10. Luke 9: But He said to them,"You give them something to eat!" And they said, "We have no more than *_______*, unless perhaps we go and buy food for all these people."

Answer: five loaves and two fish

With five loaves and two fish, He made it possible to feed five thousand people. He looked up to heaven and blessed the food and made it enough to feed them all and they were satisfied and there were leftovers.
11. Matthew 27: And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, "This is Jesus the *_____* of the Jews".

Answer: King

This was above His head when they crucified Him and was written in Hebrew. Matthew 27 goes on to say that in His ninth hour on the cross He cries out to the Father "Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, Why have You forsaken Me?" People gathered round and wanted to see if Elijah would save Him but it was not until He was in the tomb and then on the third day the Lord raised Him.
12. John 3: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten *_____*, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Answer: Son

John 3:16 is a very famous and noteworthy scripture. God did not send His Son to judge the world but for the world to be saved through Him.
13. Jeremiah 1: Now gird up your loins and arise, and speak to them all which I *______* you. Do not be dismayed before them, or I will dismay you before them.

All of the men of Israel congregated at King Solomon's feast. They brought the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord and put it in its place under the wings of the cherubim.
16. Deuteronomy 30: I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So *_____* life in order that you may live, you and your descendents, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

Answer: choose

The Lord wants us to choose life over death. Only through life will we go on to heaven to be with God. Death spiritually takes us to Hell.
17. Matthew 5: Blessed are those who have been *______* for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Answer: persecuted

Matthew 5:3-11 tells about who is blessed by the Lord. The blessed includes the gentle, merciful, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, pure in heart, peacemakers, and those persecuted for the sake of righteousness.

Answer: Law

Romans 2 says that the Lord doesn't show partiality to anyone including the Jews and Greeks. The letter to the Romans was written by Paul. This is in the New Testament which means that even though Christ died for our sins we must still follow God's laws.
19. Proverbs 31: She extends her hand to the *_____*, and she stretches out her hands to the needy.

Answer: poor

Proverbs 31:10-31 gives the description of the excellent wife. Psalm 31:30 "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, shall be praised."
20. Jude 1: 'But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of *_____*, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"'

Answer: Moses

Jude was a bond servant to Jesus Christ and the brother of James. He warns of the history of the ungodly nations. We are to remember what God did to Sodom and Gomorrah and other towns God has destroyed for their sins.
