1. Ken Dorsey

The Miami Hurricanes beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2001. Quarterback Ken Dorsey went 38-2 over his illustrious career in Miami but was only drafted in the Seventh Round by the San Francisco 49ers.
2. Matt Leinhart

In 2004, Matt Leinhart not only won the Heisman Trophy for the best player in college football that year, he led the USC Trojans to the national title. Despite his incredible college career, Matt has never made it to superstar level in the NFL after being drafted in the first round by Arizona Cardinals.
3. Vince Young

In 2005, Texas quarterback Vince Young spearheaded the game winning drive to clinch the national title in the closing moments against USC. One of the greatest scrambling quarterbacks of the last twenty years, Vince went number three in the NFL draft.
4. Matt Flynn

In 2007, LSU won the national championship with Matt Flynn under center. They beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 38-24 in the final game. Matt set a Green Bay Packers record on the last day of the 2012 NFL season by throwing for 480 yards against the Detroit Lions.
5. Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow was an ESPN darling, the TV network could not get enough publicity for the charismatic Florida Gators quarterback. Tebow was famous for publicly speaking about his Christian faith and led Florida to a victory against Oklahoma in the 2008 championship game.
6. Cam Newton

Cam was drafted number one in the NFL draft the year after leading the Auburn Tigers to the title in 2010. Originally committed to SEC rival school, the Florida Gators, Newton won the Heisman Trophy in 2010 at Auburn.
7. Cardale Jones

Talk about being the right guy at the right time, Cardale Jones was the third-string quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes at the start of the 2014 season. Injuries to starter Braxton Miller and then backup J.T. Barrett opened the door for Cardale to start and win the Big 10 Championship game, the Sugar Bowl, and ultimately the National Championship game in his only three starts of the year.
8. Deshaun Watson

Clemson won titles in 2016 with Deshaun Watson at quarterback and repeated in 2018 with Trevor Lawrence at the helm. Deshaun finished second in the Heisman Trophy race to future NFL MVP Lamar Jackson (Louisville) but the Clemson Tigers to the title over Alabama 35-31.
9. Tua Tagovailoa

In 2017, the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled into the national champional game led by sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts. At halftime, coach Nick Saban benched his star quarterback and put in freshman Tua Tagovailoa for the second half. The game paid off and Alabama won the game, Tua was named MVP!
10. Joe Burrow

Senior quarterback Joe Burrow broke NCAA record after record in the 2019 season. Sixty total touchdowns and a new record for points scored in a season earned Joe the Heisman Trophy that season. The star studded line-up on the LSU Tigers in 2019 cruised to the title defeating the defending national champions, the Clemson Tigers, by a score of 42-25.
