Answer: Earl Weaver

Weaver had the team from 1968-1982. His 100-win seasons were in 1969, '70, '71, '79, and 1980. The franchise also lost 100 games in a season 10 times. They won seven American League pennants along with three World Series.
2. The Braves' franchise began the 20th century as the Boston Beaneaters. They had one pitcher throw two nine-inning no-hitters in their first 100 seasons. Who was it?

Answer: Warren Spahn

Spahn threw them in 1960 when the went 21-10, and 1961 when his record was 21-13 at the age of 40. In both those seasons, Warren was the runner-up for the Cy Young behind Vernon Law and Whitey Ford.

The others listed never played for the Angels. Fregosi played for the Angels in 11 of his 18 seasons at shortstop. His cycles came in 1964 and 1968. After retiring in 1978, Jim took up managing the Angels, White Sox, Phillies, and Blue Jays.

After that, their MVP winners were Phil Cavarretta in 1945, Hank Sauer in 1952, a two-time winner, Ernie Banks in 1958 and 1959, Ryne Sandberg in 1984, Andre Dawson in 1987, and Sammy Sosa in 1998.
10. When the American League began in 1901, what was the name of the Cleveland team?

Answer: Blues

After the Blues name in 1901, the franchise changed their name to the Bronchos in 1902. The Naps name would come in 1903, then the Indians name came to light in 1915. The Indians would win two World Series in the 20th century, in 1920 and 1948.
