Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In episode three, "A Couple of Choices", what is the connection between all of the murder/suicides?

Answer: they had the same wedding photographer

Each couple used the same photographer, who continued to stalk them for their first year of marriage. Then he'd break into their home and convince one or the other they had to murder the spouse in order to save themselves. When Allison had her dream about the murder/suicide, she saw the go between/mediator as a marriage counselor. Donna Bullock played the dream therapist.
2. Allison's oldest daughter is a mathematical genius like her father Joe.

Answer: False

Ariel appeared to be highly skilled in math. But, when she insisted that her dad had to be next to her in order to do the work, Allison realized Ariel was reading her father's mind. At this point Allison realizes that her two oldest daughters have acquired her gift to some degree.

In the same episode Allison realizes she had her first known incident of foresight. Two episodes later, in "Lucky", we see that her brother also has the gift of foresight.
3. In "Jump Start" Allison dreams of a young woman jumping off of a cliff and into a ravine. What 2 items did the woman throw off of the cliff before she jumped?

Answer: cell phone and tape recorder

This episode had a quiet young man manipulating both a desperate young woman and his father, District Attorney Larry Watts. He wanted to obtain 'Power of Attorney' for his father's estate, so he convinced a disturbed young woman to blackmail his father.

She did this by taping an intimate encounter with Larry. After she successfully blackmailed the father, Larry's son treated her horribly over the phone. So, she tossed the cell and that tape recorder over the edge and then jumped. Thomas Ian Nicholas of "American Pie" and "American Wedding" fame played Larry's son Greg.
4. Joe is able to save his co-worker and friend Brett after Allison confesses that she saw him having a heart attack.

Answer: False

Joe confesses to Brett in "Jump Start" that he has a gift, and goes on to describe Allison's gift as his own. Joe explains to Brett that he knows he'll die in a baseball uniform inside an ambulance. Brett thinks Joe is the one who needs to see a doctor. But, later he remembers Joe's warning and gets himself to the the phone to dial 911 in time to save his own life temporarily. Joe is very excited that he and Allison saved Brett, but when he tells Allison about it she already knows that Brett died anyway, despite a quadruple bypass.

The incredible Joey Slotnick played Brett. I first remember seeing Joey on "Beverly Hill, 90210" way back in 1995! He played Tuck from the episode "Unreal World". In 2003 and 2004 I enjoyed him on "Nip Tuck" as Merrill Bobolit. "Alias" fans might remember his character Steven Haladki from 2002.
5. How many ghosts did Allison and her brother Mike have in common in the episode "Lucky"?

Answer: 2

When Mike accompanied Allison to the burned out house, he could see Diedre, the ghost child, in her upstairs window. But, when questioned about it, he lied to Allison. Then, later Allison saw the ghost of Mike's Sergent from Afghanistan standing over Mike's sleeping form. Mike had seen and heard his Sergeant before, as the man was pleading with Mike to let his family know that he did not commit suicide.
6. Who was the little girl that Allison met inside the burned out house in "Lucky"?

Answer: Diedre

Blaine Saunders was credited at the end of the show as '9 year old girl'. But, she told Allison her name the first time the two met, and then Allison used it again when she went to the house with her brother.
7. Ariel Dubois dreams about being a another girl, Sarah, who's trapped inside a castle. When her mother explains that most dreams are just dreams, and not a sign, what is the clue Ariel takes from her dream that convinces her to explore further?

Answer: a dragon

In the dream, Sarah is being held by an evil ogre and a green dragon flies about the castle. In real life, Ariel spots a big green dragon painted on the side of a building. This convinces her she has seen a sign, because Allison explained to her that it is only when she sees things out of the ordinary from her dreams that she knows she is supposed to help someone. Ariel wanders away from her field trip to explore the signs and finds Sarah's older brother riding a bike infront of the house she saw in her dreams, the house Sarah wanted to get back to.

He told Ariel that his sister died two years previously. Ariel knew, though, that this Sarah was not a ghost. It turned out she'd been kidnapped and the abductor had given her to his mentally challenged brother while he went to prison.
8. Allison has a reoccurring nightmare about two boys trying to outrun a train. Who were these two boys?

Answer: Kenny and Leonard Cardwell

Allison's dream leads her to a scientist that studies psychics. They soon discover her dream is about him and his younger brother Kenny. Leonard believed Kenny had disappeared and been murdered at the age of 4. Between the two of them, they discover Kenny Cardwell had been taken by a lonely grieving mother and raised as her own. Allison found Kenny, now known as Ken Buckley, and let him know the truth.

As Ken Buckley, Kenny Cardwell had written a book based on that experience with the train- which he thought was just a story.

The brothers in his book were Nate and David Carmichael, and the book had been made into a movie. Allison saw the trailer for the movie while she and Joe escorted the kids to the theater. This was in the episode "The Other Side Of The Tracks".
9. In "The Other Side Of The Tracks", about the two boys and the train, there is a second storyline. A 14 year old boy confesses to a murder he did not commit. Allison is so consumed by the nightmare, and solving the puzzle, that she is unable to offer her boss any help. Though he was innocent, the boy maintains his guilt, and his fate is __________.

Answer: all of these

Allison is able to get a fix on the boy's truth after her ordeal with the Cardwell brothers is cleared up. But, when she phones her boss she finds out that he maintained his guilt and was sent to a lock up facility. There, another man stabbed and killed him in order to acquire his toothbrush. Whomever did commit the murder paid the boy and his mother, and paid for a defense attorney, in order to conceal their own guilt.
10. Also from "The Other Side Of The Tracks", who was it that contacted Allison in her dreams to show her the boys along the train?

Answer: Connie Buckley

When Allison arrived at Ken Buckley's (Kenny Cardwell) house Connie was there waiting for her. She explained to Allison that she'd felt terrible guilt every since she'd died, and she could not move into heaven. Allison came back later and explained the truth to Kenny and explained that Connie's own child had died at seven months from Scarlet fever.
