Walt Weiss was a shortstop who won a World Series with the Oakland Athletics. History has not recorded if Fanny Brice ever caught a touchdown pass.

The original film, "The Postman Always Rings Twice", was based on a 1934 novel by James M. Cain. Lana Turner starred in the '46 film. The credits do not list Fanny Brice, however. Jessica Lange starred with Jack Nicholson in the 1981 version, which also does not list Fanny Brice. Prior to the '46 "Postman," there was also a film by Luciano Visconti entitled "Ossesione" ("Obsession"), made in 1942, but my question was focused on the version with the English title that rhymes with "Fanny Brice." There was also an opera based on the novel first commissioned in 1982, again without Ms Brice, who died in 1951, but had been married at one time to Billy Rose, who was a great showman in his own right and wrote "Me and My Shadow" and "It's Only a Paper Moon".

Answer: Three Blind Mice

In 1985 in Clearwater, Florida, umpires threw out the organist for the Clearwater Phillies when he played the tune for "Three Blind Mice" following a controversial call. In 2012 umpires ejected the announcer for playing the tune following a call at first base in a game between the Daytona Cubs and Fort Myers Miracles, again in the Sunshine State. Minor league baseball uses a three-umpire system.

Although officially frowned upon by league officials, the playing of the tune is not unheard of in professional basketball and hockey games, both of which use three officials.

Answer: Jimmy Looks Twice

The film stars Val Kilmer as FBI agent Ray Levoi, Graham Greene as tribal policeman Walter Crow Horse, and John Trudell as Jimmy Looks Twice. Filmed on location on reservation land in South Dakota, the movie reflects actual incidents on reservations in the 1970s and anti-government sentiments from that decade and since.

"Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" first appeared in 1934, and was written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie. It has been recorded by such artists as Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Bing Crosby, The Beach Boys and The Jackson Five. The tune also became the basis of a TV special narrated by Fred Astaire.

Danny Thomas was in show business for over 50 years before passing away in 1991. He starred in the 1952 remake of "The Jazz Singer" with Peggy Lee. "Make Room for Daddy" lasted for 13 years, the first five on ABC and the rest on CBS. The sitcom was also called "The Danny Thomas Show".

There is a picture from the Time and Life Pictures Collection showing Fanny Brice and Thomas performing together on the radio in 1944. It is probably one of Thomas' appearances as postman Jerry Dingle on Brice's radio show "The Baby Snooks Show".

A website called "Polar Bears and Global Warming" says "since 1979, the area of permanent ice cover is reducing at a rate of 9.8% each decade". The most detrimental effect of loss of Arctic ice seems to be on polar bears. In December of 2013, "The New American" posted a headline that said, "Al Gore Forecasted 'Ice Free' Arctic by 2013; Ice Cover Expands 50%".

Fanny Brice was born in NYC in 1891 and named Fania Borach. She created and starred in her own radio show, beginning in 1936, called "The Baby Snooks Show". So does that mean that Fanny was Snooki before Snooki was Snooki? Two songs associated with her from the "Ziegfield Follies" were "My Man" and "Second Hand Rose".
