The Battle of Jena-Auerstedt was fought on October 14, 1806. The French were led by Napoleon and the Prussians by Duke Charles William Ferdinand. The Prussians lost decisively and fell under French rule until 1812. After his victory, Napoleon ordered a bridge built in Paris commemorating the battle. It is known as Pont d'Ilena.

Sawm is a fast that Muslims undergo from sunup to sunset during the month of Ramadan. It is done to show sacrifice to God and to repent for past sins and aggressions. The elderly, ill and pregnant women are usually exempt.

The Kalaallit people make up over 80% of Greenland's population. Greenland's name in Greenlandic is Kalaallit Nunaat, which translates to "land of the Kalaallit". The term Kalaallit historically referred to the people who lived in western Greenland, though today typically it refers to any Inuit person from Greenland.

"Klute" starred Jane Fonda as a New York City prostitute named Bree Daniels who receives obscene letters in the mail from an executive named Tom Gruneman, played by Robert Milli. Gruneman has since disappeared. Donald Sutherland also stars as John Klute, a detective investigating the disappearance.

Bilocation refers to a person or image appearing in two totally different places (sometimes thousands of miles away) at the same time. The Catholic saint, Padre Pio, is alleged to have appeared in Venezuela at the same moment he died in Italy in 1968. Other saints who are said to have achieved this miracle are Anthony of Padua and Ambrose of Milan.

The Republic of Biafra separated from Nigeria because of economic strife and cultural differences. Biafra was largely populated by the Igbo people, though there were several other minorities in the country as well. The people in many cases were worse off than when they were under Nigerian rule. Over three million people starved to death. Biafra eventually surrendered and became part of Nigeria again in 1970.

In Daphne du Maurier's classic novel, "Rebecca", the unnamed narrator and her husband Max de Winter live in the grand estate of Manderley. However, the narrator is plagued by her husband's deceased wife Rebecca who seems to have some hold over the estate and the other people living there, especially the evil housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers.

On "The Simpsons", the title family live next door to Ned and Maude Flanders and their two sons Rod and Todd. The Flanderses are overly nice and extremely religious, much to Homer's chagrin. Homer also has a habit of stealing things from Ned, who rarely makes a fuss about it.

In some episodes, such as the season five "Homer Loves Flanders", have showcased the two family's friendship. Typically, however, Homer starts a feud with Ned but they make up by the end of the episode. Maude Flanders died in season 11 when she was hit by t-shirts shot out of cannons and fell over the bleachers at the race track.
