I know the slow song in the dance sequence of 'Hope Floats' is Garth Brooks, but what is the song before that, the one that the band is playing at the dance?

Question #100191. Asked by JeanSei. (Oct 13 08 6:20 PM)

The song is supposed to be one of these:

    9. Mustang Burn (recorded live at Gruene Hall) Jack Ingram 4:29 $0.99
    10. Work This Out (recorded live at Gruene Hall) Jack Ingram 5:13 $0.99
    11. Travis County (recorded live at Gruene Hall) Jack Ingram 3:19 $0.99
    12. Barbie Doll Jack Ingram

It is probably Jack Ingram -- However, the number did NOT make it to the sound track -- So, I've not got a clue what it is.

"This soundtrack misses the best performance in the movie, that of Jack Ingram and the Beat-up Ford Band. In the scene where Bullock and Connick are dancing, Jack and the boys are the band at the dance. This is real Texas folks."

This former Manchester milkman, now deceased, sang a song about a dance named after him. (The dance was nothing other than his usual stage antics.) The song mentioning the dance was also named after him. His name was part of the band's name performing the song but the dreamy band was not named after him.
