Are the Whos in 'Horton Hears a Who' the same ones that are in 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'?

    Question #101743. Asked by david1975. (Dec 16 08 6:39 PM)

Hmmm....of How The Grinch Stole Christmas Wikipedia comments: "The Whos of this book may or may not be the minuscule Whos of Horton Hears a Who; In the Broadway musical Seussical, the Grinch's Whos and Horton's are one and the same, the Grinch being microscopic and living on the dust speck as well. In the live-action movie, Whoville is located in a snowflake."

I guess the Who jury is out on this one.

    Anyone else have insight?

They are the same Whos, I just don't know if they're the EXACT SAME Whos. :)

Horton Hears a Who! is a 1954 book by Dr. Seuss. It is the second Seuss book to feature Horton the Elephant, the first being Horton Hatches the Egg.

The Whos would later make a reappearance in How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.

The Whos also appear in How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Halloween is Grinch Night. The live-action The Grinch movie reinforces the idea that the Whos are microscopic by showing that the events in How The Grinch Stole Christmas! actually took place within a snowflake, but the 1966 animated TV special, like the original book, never mentions their size.

    No, they are not.

My only reference is in the original cartoons-- with Horton, He and the Wickersham brothers are "full" size animals where The Who's , Including Little Jo Jo Who, are microscopic.
The Grinch is "full" size; as shown for comparison when he is in the episode with The Cat in The Hat having a drive / picnic. The Cat in Hat as we all know is "full" size as shown with the children. Whereas Little Cindy Lou Who is the same "full" size as the Grinch in both original and remake.

Conclusion: Horton,Grinch and Cindy Lou Who = same "size". Horton, Grinch and Cindy Lou = 100x's larger than Jo Jo Who
