If teeth are not considered to be bones, are teeth part of the skeletal system?

Question #128265. Asked by nannywoo. (Dec 08 12 2:41 PM)

The skeletal system is more than just bones. "Your Skeletal system is all of the bones in the body and the tissues such as tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connect them.
Your teeth are also considered part of your skeletal system but they are not counted as bones. Your teeth are made of enamel and dentin. Enamel is the strongest substance in your body."

Thanks! One of my grandson's "fun facts" on a poster for a class project was that teeth aren't bones, so I was wondering. nannywoo
